We will be going in a few weeks and I have a room only can a package be added one week before you go, or I am just out of luck? I have been obsessing about the dining plan and I wanted to add one day of park admission and the dining plan. We have had the dining plan the past few times that we have gone, and I have become so spoiled by it. Am I just being silly?

Thanks:banana:

Only Disney can tell you. 1-407-WDISNEY. Do you already have ADRs?? It might be hard to get them for next week.

I was told by the Disney reservationist that you could change a room only reservation to a package any time. I would assume that means a year before or a week before. I agree with the previous poster, you could have a little trouble getting ADR's this late but who knows......you might get just what you're looking for.

Definitely call 407-W-DISNEY and have them give you a definite answer.

I could be totally wrong about this, but . . .

I don't think a room only reservation can be "changed" to a package reservation or vice versa. I think you will have to cancel the original ressie and re-book a package reservation. Whether or not that's possible at this point, only Disney could tell you.

When I tried to make our June, 2007 package reservation in June, 2006, I was told to book a room only reservation and when the package prices came out, I could all and change my reservation to a package. Credit would be given for payment(s) on the room only reservation. I still recommend calling.

Yes, you can do this. I have done it twice. If you change a room-only reservation to a package anywhere within 1-45 days prior to your arrival, the entire balance is due when you make that change. Both times just required an additional dollar amount be added to the deposit because the moderate rooms were not $200 or more per night.

I have never changed a package to a room-only, so I can only advise on the other way around.

I have gone from room only to a package, and you can't really change it, you have to cancel room only then book a package, putting down a $200 package deposit, and getting the deposit from your room ressie refunded. The CM said the different ressies don't "speak to each other." I have been told in the past that you can do this (assuming your purpose is to add dining) up to 5 days in advance. As previously stated, at that point, your entire balance would be due. The trouble with changing from a package to room only is you would have to cancel the package, which may incur a fee, depending on how far out it is from your arrival date.

We booked a room only for May with a discount mailer pin a couple of weeks ago, and were told at that time that we could add the dining at any time. It was my understanding that you had to have a length of stay pass for at least one person in the party to add the dining plan. We were sort of on the fence with this as we a few days left on some passes that we already have.

Everyone in your party must have the same tickets. You can convert to the package by adding a one day base ticket for every one. We have old tickets too that we will use in addition to the one day tickets. If you have an AP you can save the tickets until next year and apply them to your AP renewal.

Just wanted to duplicate what bytheblood said. You are not changing your existing reservation of room only. You are booking a totally new package. You would be cancelling your room only reservation and booking a package reservation. New/different reservation numbers. HTH
