We are using Airtran to fly home. Can the Pop Cm book our seats? It can only be done 24 hours in advance. Any advice?

Thanks for all your help!!!

There's a small room off the lobby, near the pay phones with a computer. A CM took my son and I there in April to try to check us in for our flight home. However, she was unable to log on so we couldn't do it. :guilty:

I'm sure someone will be able to help you (or at least try to).

Don't you think this is asking a little too much from a CM? They have guests to take care of at the resort and you want them to book your flight? They aren't travel agents.

Are you talking about printing boarding passes and checking you in online or actually booking a flight?

I am talking about printing boarding passes. Can this be done?

I'm sorry I did not word this post to your satisfaction. What I meant to ask was about printing boarding passes. GEEZ!

If they aren't busy they should be able to do it for you. If you had approached the desk and asked them to book you a flight you may have been turned down. At least here you were corrected so that you could ask the correct question.

Thanks again for the quick response. I am sorry for posting the wrong question and I do appericiate your help! :teeth:

I thought I had heard that each resort now has a lobby concierge desk. It sounds like this is exactly something they can do for a guest. I hate arriving at the airport and taking a chance that our seats will not be together. I hope it works out okay for you.

You can also have someone just check in for you without printing boarding passes. That way you will be checked in and pick your seats. It isn't a problem having them print the boarding pass at the airport.

I do this all the time when I am on the road without my printer.

We use AirTran a lot. What we usually do is give someone back home our reservation number and have them print our boarding passes 24 hours before the flight. Then they simply fax the boarding passes to our hotel. We pick up our faxed boarding passes the night before, and then off to the airport knowing our seat assingment ahead of time. May sound confussing, but it works great!

Does anyone know if this can be done for southwest also? I was thinking about having someone from home to check us in and just getting the passes once we get there or if we can use a faxed copy to do it that way.

I took this question as you already booked your flight but just needed to check in 24hrs in advanced for your tickets.
If you were looking to purchase tickets you wouldn't have said you needed to do it 24 hrs in advanced. ;)

We stayed there this month and they wouldn't print the passes, etc., for AirTran. They could only do it for a major airline.

Just a quick note, Southwest does not accept faxed boarding passes... and Im guessing other airlines might be the same. However, Lobby Concierge CAN print out both AirTran and Southwest boarding passes, including selecting seats upon checkin.

Last January at Pop they let my DH use a computer and printer in the back and he checked us in and printed our SWA boarding passes himself.

As an FYI there is a 24 Business Center at the Dolphin with computers and printers available for a small fee. Last week I checked us in and printed our passes there late at night. It took only a couple of minutes and cost $4.

"Those who are not flying a Participating Airline may still recieve thier boarding passes at thier Lobby Concierge desk, so long as the airline has internet check in."

So, yes, you can have them print your boarding passes and select your seats. You will have to take your luggage to the airport to check it in yourself with airtran.

Perhaps they have changed it, but my in-laws had to go early and do all of that at the airport because Pop couldn't do so for AirTran. Or maybe, they had a bum CM who didn't want to help. Either way, on their departure on 10/13, Pop wouldn't print it out. Just a heads up. Apparently, some people have had luck with this. We didn't, so be prepared for for either answer.
