Can points be used at non DVC resorts?

I've tried finding an answer to this everywhere and it's nowhere to be found! I was just wondering if I'd be able to use points at say the Poly or GF? Thanks

Points can be used at Deluxe Resorts that don't have a DVC component and at the Moderates. There is a $95 booking fee.

I would definately NOT buy DVC if you're looking to do this type of booking often.

The points required are very high. A deluxe like Poly or GF can be more than a DVC 2 bedroom, plus the $95 fee.

Using DVC points for stays at locations other than DVC resorts can cost more than renting out a reservation and paying cash. Some do it, but most will agree that it is not the best use of your points.

Thank you! We wouldn't do it often but I've always wanted to stay at the Poly once and DH at the Grand Floridian once...but maybe BLT will work and just hop the monorail to go explore
