Can pin codes and free dining be combined??

Ok, so I finally received a pin code I think I can use. I recieved a pin code for 40% dlx resorts that is good for certain dates the remainder of the year. We can finally afford to stay at a dlx, but only without adding on dining and if we drive from Texas. I know Disney has offered free dining in the past during the summer and early fall and that is when we would like to go. I was pricing resorts on disneyworld.com and we can stay at Animal Kingdom or Wilderness Lodge the first week in August for under 2000 for 2 adults and one 4 yr. This price includes the lodging and tickets but not the meals or airfare. Our budget is 2500.

So if I book this and free dining comes out in a couple of months, will I be able to add the dining to the reservation? I would hate pass up a really good offer on the resort part of our stay. Has anyone been able to this with success??:thumbsup2 I want to book ASAP before the offer expires.

Thanks for your help!

So far Disney has only offered free dining on "rack rate" packages.

So unless they suddenly change their promotional policy (which is very unlikely) you can't get free dining on a package booked with a pin code.

I have gone every Sept since free dining was first offered. WDW has never allowed stacking of discounts. To get free dining you must pay rack rate for the room and buy at least one day park tickets for everyone in the room. Even AP holders must pay rack rate, buy one day park tickets, and give up their room discounts to get free dining.

You just have to run the numbers and see which is the better deal for you. Usually at a deluxe resort the room discounts are the better deal, at a value resort the free dining is the better deal, and at a moderate you just have to run the numbers, as depending on how many people are in the room and the amount of the room discount sometimes free dining is better, but sometimes the room discounts beat free dining.

I agree with the others. Disney does not allow stacking of codes. You can only use one code per reservation. For free dining Disney normally requires that you pay rack rate (full price) for the room. If you use a pin code on the room then you can't get free dining if it is offered.

One minor correction.. they can use a PIN code to book now.. and hope to convert to free dining later..

Six of one.. half a dozen of the other.. the end result is ... no you cannot stack.. you but you can change your mind. :)

In Dec 2008, we got FD AND 20% discount at a mod via a DVR promo.

And during Xmas...

Then again, it was at the beginning of the economic problems.
