I've been at Ron Jon Cape Caribe lately and there owners can use the water area as a day guest because they on there, is this ok with DVC resorts? Can a vero Beach owner decide they want to go to the beach and go to the hotel to use the pool and beach access?

Been wondering this but haven't been able to find an answer.

Thanks

No, facilities at DVC resorts are only for registered guests at that resort - with the exception of pool-hopping (and even then, DVC members need to be staying at a DVC resort on a reservation made thru MS).

Others are certainly welcome to visit DVC resorts and dine in resort restaurants, but the use of recreational facilities and programs is for guests staying at the resort.

This brings up another question for me, Doc. Does the pool-hopping privilege extend to all the pools? If we stay at Boardwalk, are we eligible to walk over to Beach Club and use Stormalong Bay? We never have tried, but I've always wondered if we would be turned away. Thanks for any info!

All the YC/BC pools, including Stormalong Bay, the pool at BLT and the AKL/AKV pool are not open to pool hopping. You will be turned away.

That's what I always assumed; glad we never tried! Thanks for the info. =)

Can you pool hope at non-DVC pools outside of the ones listed above (i.e. Coronado, etc.)?

If pool hopping is not blacked out for holiday periods, you can pool hop to any Disney pool except for the YC/BC/BCV pools, AKL/AKV pools and the BLT pool. However, should the pool you hop to become busy, the life guard can ask you to leave.

You can't pool hop to the Swan/Dolphin pools nor any of the DTD hotel pools.

Yes. All Disney resorts, other than those listed, allow pool hopping if you are staying at a DVC resort on a points reservation.

Wow, you learn something new on the dis every day! I never knew that DVC owners could pool hop to non-DVC resorts while staying on a DVC reservation! Great to know!
