HDDR is way way better than the Luau. The food is better, the show is better. Unless you don't like corny jokes .

We've done HDDR several times, Spirit of Aloha twice. We unanimously prefer HDDR hands down!

I'm going to dissent from the pack a bit, and give you a non-answer. Both the HDDR and SoA are very good shows. Which one is better really comes down to taste. If you are looking for a fun show with corny jokes and slapstick comedy that will keep you laughing, the HDDR fits the bill. If you're looking for a pretty show with amazing dancing, then SoA. It's kind of like picking between an action movie and a love story, it depends what you're into. In our case, I prefer HDDR, but DW and DD like SoA better.

I've been trying to book HDDR for over a week now online, and it only goes to Oct 16th. Super frustrating!!! I know I can just call and do it, and I have been doing that, but I'd still like to be able to check online when I want. Arg!

I've been to both and enjoyed Spirit of Aloha but LOVE HDDR!

Both my boys still ask to go every time and still love it as much as we did the very first time!

I debated both shows but decided to do Aloha. I'm from the south/midwest. We have amazing bbq and that type of food. I can see country type shows everyday if I wanted.


We chose Aloha because it was not something we have done a million times and honestly I doubt HDDR would be better than what I can get at home.

Aloha will be food we don't usually eat (poly/tropical type food) and let's face it there are not a lot of hula dancers in Oklahoma.


I'd go for what will give you the best show that is not something you can get at home.
