Can one person check in for 2 people using DME

Ok, now. I have a trip coming up in 29 days. I was planning to go solo. But, decided last minute to take my son. He has always been advised on the reservation. However, I only just purchased his airline tickets today. As, I was unsure if I would take him. The dilemma is. We are taking seperate flights( He is 16) His flight arrives 1 hour after mine. Is it ok, for me to check into DME, before he arrives. So, when he does show up. We can be checked in and just head straight for the bus?

I don't see why not...though they tend to prefer that you go from check in directly to your bus line.

But, in terms of what is allowed, they actually prefer ONE member from your party stand in line to check in the rest of your party (cuts down on the sheer cattle call factor).

Others know more than me because it has been a little while since my last DME ride, but I would say YES! DME only wants ONE person from your group to stand in line and check in at the DME desk. Once your son has arrived, then you both would go to where you line up to catch the bus for the different resorts and show them your checked-in paperwork to get into the correct waiting line for your resort. Since it is a 2-step process, step #1 can be done by one person from the party.

On our last trip we only had to make a quick stop at the entrance to the queue at the desk. A CM at a podium there made a cursory check of our documents and directed us straight to the bus queue. That experience appears to be fairly common now.

I have been twice this summer and both times they have had a CM standing at the front of the queue area directing people who all ready have their vouchers to bypass the whole check in desk - it seems now that is now reserved for people with problems or situations that need to be addressed.

So I would just wait for him wherever and then go together.
