Hi all, less than 24hrs away from departure for WDW now!!!

I have a question about the Table Service restaurants. Often I read in Dining Reports about how people have received drink refills. Are these refills free? It may sound like a silly question I know, but here it is extremely rare to receive free drink refills at a restaurant and I'm not sure what the situation is in the US.

Thanks in advance!

At most restaurants but not all. I know at Via Napoli they stressed no refills.

This is good to know, another reason we won't be eating there. LOL

OP, basically if you ask the server when they come to the table you can be sure which ones do. I think most of them do, at least the buffets and the ones I have been to.
If in doubt it doesn't hurt to ask.

Now CS places, many do NOT have refills. So you can ask them as well if eating any meals there.

No refills at a TS for fountain drinks would be a deal killer for me. No refills on something that cost pennys per serving and turn around and charge me an additonal $3 for a glass that is 2/3 filled with ice, no thanks. There are way too many choices and Via Napoli, if true (I believe you), would not be one of them. :goodvibes

Thanks heaps for clearing this up for me folks! :)

I too believe that charging extra for a simple fountain soda is unfair, but I suppose it is up to Disney and the restaurants as to what they do... ;)

Happy holidays to all of y'all! :)

Yes soda has always been free refills at TS. Australia sounds more like the UK, free refils are pretty much unheard of here aswell.

Milkshake at Whispering Canyon Cafe is unlimited aswell.

At CS - backlot express at HS and restaurantasaurus at AK have free soda refils (you help yourself) and WPE and Earl of sandwich at DTD.

Its not a silly question because New York City use to be like where you live and didn't give refills until not that long ago.
But all the TS places I've been to & we've been to A LOT at Disney (and most restaurants in the US) have free refills on soda, ice tea, & coffee. Sometimes that waiters are good about bringing you one without asking, other times you just need to ask - it's really how good/not good the waiter is.
I know when I was at Via Napoli they gave me more ice tea, I had to ask though, I don't remember what my DH had, but the waiter was horrible and the food so so, so I won't be back but thats not because of the drinks. But he didn't stress not getting refills like the others have mentioned.

We've been to 39 of the Disney dining plan table service restaurants, and the only time we were not offered free refills is at the restaurants that allow slightly upscale beverages as the dining plan drink...like the restauranst that allow specialty lemonades and flavored teas, or "virgin" frozen drinks or milkshakes as the dining plan beverage...like The Wave, Le Cellier, and several others. When the raspberry lemonade, virgin colada, or milkshake was ordered, we were told it would be one drink only. Now have to say we had beer & wine with our pizzas, so we got our DDP beverage- coffee - with our dessert at Via Napoli so really didn't have the opportunity to see if we would have gotten a refill since we didn't even finish the one cup of coffee (too full!) We are going back there in a couple of weeks with a son who drinks nothing but soda (and a lot of it) so we'll see if he gets any soda refills. I suspect it's the specialty Italian sodas you can't get refills on...

Everywhere else, though, when ordering regular fountain soda, hot or cold tea, and coffee, it was unlimited refills.

We had no problem getting free refills on Coke and ice tea at the TS restaurants including Via Napoli last week.
