We are planning a long weekend trip with friends and we are both DVC members.... can we book a 2 bedroom and split the points from 2 seperate accounts?

I'm not sure if that was worded right but I hope you know what I mean??
TIA

I am not sure you can 'split' the points, the best way is to transfer the required amount of points into one account so all booked under one membership.

Claire ;)

You can transfer points as Claire suggested, or each of you can book part of the trip and then link the reservations. You can not just make a reservation and split the points between two accounts.

You can't pool points from two different member accounts for a single reservation.

You can either have your friend transfer points into your account (or vice-versa), or you can each make a reservation for part of the trip, and have member services link the reservations so you (hopefully) wouldn't have to move. Using that method, though, you would have to check out and check in again partway through your trip.

Thank you... I had no idea that points were able to be transfered like that! So do we both have to call to transfer points? How does that work?

We do this often. We have our own points and our daughter has her own points. When we want to meet up at WDW, we both get on the phone to MS and book the entire trip. As far as using points, rather than do a transfer (and use up our one time per year quota) we just split up the days relatively evenly. The split seldom comes out exact, but since its all in the family we really don't worry about it.

We have also done this and while you do have to go back to check in to get new keys we did not have to move or vacate our villa :)

I have member friends and have linked points reservations and never had to get new keys. A couple of years ago I booked nights 1, 3 & 4, my friend booked night 2 (Friday), it was all linked together like 1 stay. We even did the dining plan, it was done as a 4 night stay. If you book a night through CRO, you do need to get new keys and it is not treated as 1 stay.

Perhaps it was the person at OKW that checked us in. We were staying on points in a GF.
