Not to bee too much of a cheapskate, but at a table service restaurant can we let the kids eat from our plates? If we order entrees for two adults and two children's menu items I think there will be a lot of food getting thrown out. Is there an all-encompassing policy at TS restaurants? Does it change form one place to the next?:confused3

I can't see why you couldn't share your food.

And I don't think you're a cheapskate.
When we go out to dinner at home, I almost always take home half my entree for lunch the next day and my kids never finish their meal. You're not going to have the option of taking any leftovers to go since you won't want to carry them around the park in the heat.

We're doing the dining plan this trip and I know we're going to wind up with extra food with everyone ordering a meal and getting dessert at TS. We are planning to share CS meals here and there so they don't go to waste too.

This will work at any WDW restaurant, table or quick service.

However, if it is a buffet or other all you can eat location (including The Skillet at Whispering Canyon Cafe) you will have to pay the full price for the age.

2 and under can eat off a parent plate without cost. The restaurants have the "option" to charge a plate sharing fee for older than 2, OR you could purchase the kids meal. I "think" that most rest. will not charge you, but to be sure, ask, don't be shy.......better to know then be charged some silly fee :wizard:

OH, my friends Just got lucky then, Trails End did not charge them. Guess that was some pixie dust...or a really nice server :confused3

To try to get an official word, I just called WDW-DINE. They say there is no plate sharing allowed at a TS restaurant. :sad2: That's gonna be a whole lot of wasted food. Either that or we'll just eat at counter service restaurants.

Phone Cms are notoriusly give out UNRELIABLE info..If you are on the dining plan, they may not allow you to share, and buffets are obviously going to charge you, but most places don't mind

I've done this numerous times at a TS and it is allowed at 50's PTC and Plaza Restaurant.

WDW-DINE has no idea what each restaurant's individual policy is. Do not use them for any info except actually making reservations.

WDW doesnt have a problem with sharing meals where you order from a menu. DW and I even share at times. We have never been frowned upon for doing this. Huge meals makes sharing make more sense.
