Speaking from the male-perspective... As long as you look good in it ;-)
But the actual rules, I have no idea.

exactly what would be the proportions that would qualify for "good"?

Just curious...not planning on thong shopping any time soon...at least not the bathing suit kind. I keep my thong covered by shorts!

You guys would crack up at the "man-kini thong" swimsuit that was going around on e-mail. It was a picture of a guy at the beach and the only way that I know to describe it is that the suit has straps over the shoulders that connect to the bottoms that only cover his "manliness" and then continues around back into a thong and back into the straps. It was the strangest thing I had ever seen...but I threatened to by DH one for his birthday :rotfl: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

A thong would definately get attention.

Probably why they want to wear it.

A thong at a water park...Yeah, that seems real functional-it must be really fun going down a slide with that on.

No, please do not wear a thong to a Disney water park. Disney is not Miami.

well we were staying at all star movies one year and there was a woman in the lobby wearing a thong and a tankini top. She had a mesh cover up on, but it was still nasty. you could see cottage cheese buns. Not the site I would expect to see at disney but I did see a "bush" last year at Epcot. Did not want to see that either.

OT, but I just wanted to say that I like your Gray. I've fallen in love with one in a pet store and I visit him once or twice a week. My DH thinks I'm nuts!

If you go down any fast, steep water slide, any bathing suit you wear will become a thong.....at least temporarily. :rotfl:

Last year there was an incident that a parent complain at Blizzard B. about a lady wearing a thong but also this lady was loud. A CM approaced her after the parent talked to that CM don't know what was said. But all we saw was she left and did apologize to the mother. :confused3

Good question - it's something that's hard to qualify with out seeing it. Maybe a picture is in order? :earseek: :teeth:

Anyway, last year at TL there was a non-American wearing something very close to a thong. And if I would have looked, which I didn't :3dglasses, I could tell you she looked good and nobody raised a fuss over her.

Thanks! He is currently screaming his head off, calling the dog, and laughing hysterically :rotfl2:

Small world, I was emailed that too a while back. :rotfl:

Ok as far as the thong goes, thanks for asking and please wear another more family friendly suit while at TL and WDW. :)

It's a sliding scale...

first i would like to thank the op for at least asking the question, and thanks to all the kind replies i would not wear the thong because of young children i would see if where you are staying has an adult pool and you might wear it at that time.

As a Mom of two preteen boys, I say 'Please don't'.
Remember that Disney is a FAMILY place.

While a thong may not be the most practical choice for a water park ... It's just a human body ... get over any hang ups ... Thongs/speedos bother american parents --- kids hardly even notice.

Yeah, right, try telling that one to my 3 yo. " Mama, Why's that girl got her butt out?" My kids notice, I mean it's not everyday that you see a grown ups butt. They notice.

Good question and I think the best answer can be had directly from Disney and not from these boards. If its okay under Disney guidelines I say go right ahead and wear it. Just bear in mind that it won't be okay for many of the people around you in the park so you probably should have either a thick skin or the ability to ignore them.

...And yes you can buy a day pass. If you aren't going to Pleasure Island at all it would be cheaper to go that route otherwise you'd be better off going with the plus option.

They might notice, but they won't care.

And the only they do notice is because we as Americans have decided that a little skin is such a terrible thing. God forbid we see a part of nature...

Someone needs to cover up the Grand Tetons and the Grand Canyon...

May of come across rude, but not intentionally... Merely a statement of opinion...

To me "good" is nicely shaped (round and big) and firm! I you ain't got the buns...please don't wear one! JK. I can see my children and myself laughing if we do see their cheeks hanging out. We're just goofy silly family.

I don't think you came off rude at all. That's your opinion. And I'm all for showing a little skin. I just said my 3yo noticed one last year in PCB, Fl and she was disgusted. Kids tend to think butts are nasty. :rotfl:

But in all honesty, I don't think that a thong would be appropriate at a Disney Park but I don't think they should be outlawed. I mean I would wear one if I were at the appropriate place with the appropriate body. Not everyone tends to follow the appropriate body rule anyway. And while we're on the subject I would rather ban male back hair than thongs.

:rotfl2: Please don't!!!

I'll be visiting WDW 5/24-5/28 and plan to spend 1 day at Epcot and 1 at typhoon lagoon, plus univ studio and island of adventure.

I am already planning my packing and what clothes to take etc. Just occurred to me whether I am 'allowed' to wear my thong bikini whilst at the water-park or whether it would be frowned upon.

It is o.k. here in Miami, but I guess things may be different in other places.

Also, does anyone know how I can go about buying entrance ticket for typhoon lagoon without having to go for the 3 day disney 'plus. ticket?
