Glad to hear you got it all worked out.![]()
This is totally wonderful news.![]()
That is great! Now you can just enjoy the anticipation of your trip and be excited again! I hope you and your family have a wonderful trip and that your son has a nice birthday at WDW!![]()
If DU has used Special Reservations to block a certain room for you, make sure it says so on your reservation info. I'm not sure if it is still available, but the number for Special Reservations used to be in a sticky on the disABILITIES forum here. I'd call to make sure this is legit, as WDW will never guarantee a certain room ahead of time - what if the people using the room decide to stay an extra day?
The phone number is in the disABILITIES FAQs thread, in the part about resorts. There is a link to that thread in my signature.Thank for let me know, I will check at the Disabilties forum right now
We made our res. thru DU and they been great so far.
Let me start from the begining. We decided to celebrate our ds 5th birthday in wdw and made our adr a year ago and was paid of a month ago.
My husband is a diabetic and since April he started having complications. He is having problem walking and now his vision is getting bad, we think he lost vision from his left eye, they will tell him on monday. Therefore, we decided to change our room type to a prefered so if he wants something to eat or drink he don't have to walk too far. By then our agent had a family situation and another agent was taking care of me at the meantime. Well I told her about the room and also to add the insurance, since we live in PR and our trip is in Sep we didn't want to take a chance. She said that she was able to find a prefered room for us and she was also able to added the insurance. I was so happy as well as my dh![]()
Well last night I was reviewing our res. I notice that our room type was not change and the insurance was not added. I email our first agent and she said she did not know anything about it.I send her copy of our email from the other agent where she state she took care of it since April. She was able to include the isnurance but she will call today and see if there a prefered room available.
WHAT!!!!
It's August and our trip is for Sep!!!!
My dh fo not know yet, I don't want him to get upset
He is thinking every is taking care of since April. I just wait for my agent email and then I have to tell him
![]()
Now, I just have to sit and wait for her to call WDW and let me know:![]()
Thanks for let me vent
UPDATE 08/07/08![]()
DU finally found a room for us, is not a preferred room but is located in Martinique 22 and he send one of his agent to check and be sure of the location. This is what she have to said:
I am back from CBR. Martinique 22 was less than a 5 min walk for me. I walked slow and it was 4 1/2 mins. Building 22 is right next to the preferred buildings so it almost like a preferred location. It took maybe another 30 seconds to get to Building 22. From the middle of bldg. 22 to the bus stop was about 2 mins.![]()
He wanted to be sure the room is acceptable otherwise he will continue working with our agent to see if a preferred room becomes available.
But I told him we are more than happy with the room location, he also offered a scooter for dh but with his vision problem we had to decline.
I know they did all they could to solve the problem and I fill confident using DU again on our future WDW vacation.![]()
Thank you for reading my post and giving me all the ideas and imput on this matter, is nice to know there are people out there that still care. That is the WDW magic.![]()
Maybe you could postpone your trip for a later date, to be sure your DH is able to accompany you both. Especially with him having surgery, it would be nice for him to have something to look forward to a bit later. Hopefully your son, being so young, wouldn't mind. Best of luck to you all![/quot
I would suggest the same thing. You may have a hard time enjoying this special trip without your DH. Prayers and Pixie dust for him![]()
This is not about the room but an update about our situation.
First let me start saying the DU are been wonderful with us and we are very happy with the outcome.![]()
But our trip is in 13 days and some of you remember dh health situation with vision and diabetes. The diabetes is in control now after a very strict diet with insulin regimen of 4x a day.But his vision is getting worse and the Othalmalogist (sp) told him yesterday that he cannot go on vacation because the pressure of the airplane may do more harm. He schedule a surgery for the 11th, therefore if everything come out ok, he might be able to go on vacation otherwise he wont be able to go.
He told me to go ahead and go to WDW with ds. If after surgery evaluation, the dr give him the ok to flight, then he meet us there just on time to celebrate ds 5th birthday Sep 20th.![]()
He is heartbroken after all this plannig, now he might not be able to go.
I need a prayer and magical dust; I dont want to leave without dh. But I know is for his own good.![]()
could you possibly drive? It is going to be very hard to enjoy yourselves completely, especially your DS without his daddy, and perhaps he will need you at home for after his surgery? I am a nurse and see this often, the loss of some sight with Diabeties...............perhaps you could all go and extra day or more and drive, at least down, just to be sure.............................either way, hope all goes well.
Pretty sure the OP is in Puerto Rico, so driving is not an option. My prayers are with you and your family that everything works out okay.
Thanks Hollymom1229 and kaysmommiePrayers and thoughts fro your family.

I thought about posponing but it will be imposible to change my vacation date at work. We are in a high demand of a certain medicine to make and deliver (I'm a biochem) therefore they are not approving vaction now.
Oh, I am so sorry to hear about your DH. I hope everything works out for all of you.![]()
Thank you all!!!
