Can I Vent, problem with our room at CBR! UPDATE 09/03/08 pg 9

Since the CMs receive limited room discounts and perks, it would appear as if you are abusing the situation. Local fire codes restrict room occupancy and you can be evicted by the resort or prosecuted by the fire marshall for violating the restrictions. These are not unique to Disney and are enforced throughout the country.
As for your bedding type, there is never a 100% chance that a specific room type will be available. Pipes break, beds get broken, people trash rooms. The hoteliers association and state and local laws advocate that a guest cannot be forced to vacate a room due to an arriving guest. The rates posted inside of your room are the maximum daily rates that the resort/hotel/motel is allowed to change your rate to per day, in the event you fail to vacate your room as scheduled.
In regards to the OP, I fail to see where she is due any compensation for a stay that has not even started yet. With weeks to go before her trip, there is plenty of time for the TA to get the reservation corrected. As others have stated, Disney sends a new reservation letter when changes have been made. Give the TA a little time and I am sure that they will get it resolved.

This thread has gone off topic. Please keep your comments on the OP story and updates. Thank you.

you have to admit, amy knows her stuff........2 beds are never guaranteed, she is right, if 4 were on the reservation, you would of gotten 2 beds...........this is hysterical, amy you won that hands down girl. I could care less who lies and puts 20 people in a room without paying, its their inconvenience not mine, sad they are that strapped that they cannot pay the extra money though, perhaps we can start a fund.

Any News OP? I know this thread is starting to get off topic but I do hope that you get some reolution to this issue and can start getting excited about your trip rather than having to worry!:)

I don't know how many times the OP has been to Disney, but if she didn't pay any additional $ when the TA told her they changed her reservation to a preferred room, she might have assumed they would pay the difference at check in. (Those of us who book frequently know we have to pay additional $ when we upgrade, but those who don't go often, or haven't previously made changes to their reservations might not even think they have to pay extra up front.) I am sure when the TA told her the changes were made, the OP assumed the TA would have asked for any additional $ due at the time of the change.

I think people are straying from her point. Yes, she knows there is a lot of walking at WDW, which would be more of a burden than than the walk from their room to the food court. Yes, she knows there are refrigerators in the rooms to keep food. The point is, the TA told her the changes were made, and they weren't. None of the other details matter. The TA messed up. That is the bottom line. These things happen, but it stinks when you are the one it happens to. DU seems to be trying to fix the situation. I hope they are successful. :tink:

Finally! It took to your post on page six to get to what I was thinking! If you have a travel agent tell you it's fixed, you should be able to think it was actually fixed. Why all the critical posts to the OP, people?

They send me an email yesterday, it said they will call Disney rep. everyday to see if any preferred room become available otherwise they have a Medical Need room for us and they are going to give use the room location as soon they it available so we have an idea where is located.

My confusion is the handicap room are the same as medical need room:confused3

DU are giving us an update everyday, therefore I'm sure they are doing all they can to solve this problem. I'm getting ready, I just order some fruit, water, juice ect. at Cosco to be deliver at the resort.

I will give you all an update as something come up:surfweb:

Thanks

This thread is very close to being closed. I would hate to see that the OP isn't able to update her situation. Please take the discussion about how many in a room to another thread!

Marimario - I think you'll be okay with that room category. I don't have first hand experience, but I'm reasonably certain they will try to make it right for you. If it isn't, you should speak up politely at check-in (or whenever the problem arises). While I have encountered several problems at WDW resorts over the years, I have always been satisfied with their customer service responses.

Also, I do think a scooter might be a great idea. Our family had to use one last March, and the service was great. WE choes a length of stay rental. We used Care Med (800-741-2282). WDW also suggested Buenavista scooter (407-938-0349). WE did have to go tot he lobby to pick up and dropoff the scooter, but it was there early. The process was easy. Not sure where Buenavista drops off the scooter. At CBR, the lobby is a ways from rooms, so maybe they can drop it somewhere else. youcan also rent them at teh parks, but the parks CAN run out. Also, the parks only rent the larger size scooters. If you are under 250lbs, I think, you can rent the more compact scooter that is easier to use.

Not necessarily. YOUR medical need is the room's location in relation to the resort's features - not the features of the room itself.

I'm so glad you got results you are happy with!

As someone who came down on DU at the start of this thread, can I make a suggestion? Write a short note letting them know how happy you are with the resolution of the problem.

Like so many other people, I'm pretty quick to complain when things don't go my way. But it sounds like someone at DU worked long and hard to make things right for you. They deserve recognition for those efforts.

Congrats once again!

I was thinking the same thing. What surprised me was that he called me but I missed the call. I never expect him to call personally since we always comunicate by email.

I not sure if I should write the letter before or after our vacation.

Not trying to be a Gloomy Gus, but how can Disney guarantee you your room location a month ahead of time? I thought they never guaranteed that you would be in a specific building/room ahead of time? Or will they do this because it is a physical need?

Thank you for reading my post and giving me all the ideas and imput on this matter, is nice to know there are people out there that still care. That is the WDW magic. :cheer2:

We're all very happy for you. When you get back from your holiday, PLEASE let us know how everything went.

Bueno suerte!

I forget the name of the department, but WDW has a dedicated department tasked with handling special needs. They can do things like this.

But under normal circumstances, you are correct that a specific building/room can't be guaranteed.

I am so happy for you that it all worked out and that you are happy with the room location. CBR is a beautiful resort, I hope you will enjoy it.
