Can I use these?

My friend's son worked for Disney while in college and now he will be going out of country to play football during the summer. He has some passes that he wants to give me.

I want to know can I use these? What if they passes are Florida only passes but he gives them to me?

I don't want to count on using them and then be surprised when we get there.

The passes that Disney CMs are given are not the same as ones I would purchase for being a FL resident. When I worked in Disney, I was given 2 one day hopper passes of which I later gave to a friend who was travelling to Disney with her family. I got them in 2001 and they were going to expire in July of 2003 so I knew that I wasn't going back before then, so I gave them away. She had no problems with them. The passes were given to me to give away to anyone of my choice. I got into Disney with my CM ID so I didn't need passes. You should have no problem. Best to you!
