For anyone who is renting a car... Why not just grab the bags and put it in the trunk of the car and everyone ride the car. Simple.

I usually rent a car even staying on sight. Why would I want ME bus to take my luggages. The rental company is downstairs and the baggage claim is downstairs as well. It's not so hard to pull the bags from the conveyer.

Same thing. When we do a split stay, I just take the cab (this is when we don't rent a car) to the other resort. I got my kids and our bags with us when we check in. Rather than having someone else transfer the bags. And your room may be ready right away, but your bags are still at the other resort. Then of course, you wait.

We ar a family of five. Kids will be 8-13 years old, and we're going at Xmas. I plan to ship through a small box with a very small tree, some lights and some presents. Since the weather can vary so much in December, we need more clothes, and heavier clothes, than our previous two trips (late April and August......we essentially only brought a swim suit, shorts, t-shirts, a sweatshirt and poncho!

I was able to rent, on site, an intermediate car, for 8 days, for $100 (taxs included) That's big enough for the driving we'll be doing.....essentially to the parks, DD, resorts for meals, and maybe one trip off site (there are a few restaurants we like off site) There's no way our luggage would fit in an intermediate car, probbaly not a van either! Adding on the extra two days (our travel days) adds an extra $50..still reasonable, but $50 is $50!

I hope to use this service for baggage transport only so we can save the time at the carousel, hop the TC to our resort, check in quickly and capture the first day at the parks. Not waiting for the luggage saves 15-20 mins. at least, getting picked up immediately by TC gets us to the resort ahead of those on the bus we would've ridden at the very least, so no matter how you figure it, we'll get in more first-day park time. I figure with an 8:53am landing, we'll easily get to WS before it opens. The only detail to be learned is, do you just sign in at MCO at a central desk, releasing your luggage delivery at that point, or does the 'release' not get triggered until you actually board. If the former, count me in, if the latter, the bags travel with us in the TC. Bill From PA

i'm with you 100% - don't know what the big deal is if we don't take the ME-- assuming you're not holding up the bus by ditching it. that would be wrong! i arrive 5/11-- that gives me a few days for the 'early returns' on the service. i also reserved a TC. a perfect world for me is what bill just described. we'll see...

Just speculating (again), but I think it would be nonsensical for Disney to assign people to certain busses that Disney would have at MCO at specific times. So Disney, or the company they contract for this, knows that 40 guests are signed up for this and are arriving on 4 flights between 9:30 and 9:45. They are assigned to bus #3. One of the flights was delayed in take-off due to a faulty warning light (happened to us March '04). Do you hold up the bus? A party of 6 lands, hasn't eaten breakfast, stops for a bite. Hold the bus for them? Another couple buys their park passes at the Disney Store. Wait for them? There are loads of reasons that loads of people will not march like cattle in a chute from the plane to the bus. I see a cycle of busses making round trips from WDW to MCO and back, each dedicated to a few resorts so as not to have the last off have a ride of an hour or more. A bus for a given cluster of resorts coming by every 20 mins or so. They will need you to register so they know you're there and ready to go, but where will this happen? Right as you get on? Possible, given wireless bar scanner technology, but a central desk near the loading area is more likely, and cheaper for them. If one can check in, releasing their luggage for delivery, then walk away, luggage only service is the reality, if not the intention. If Disney or their surrogate is highly motivated to see you to your seat they can do it, but at a cost to them. Time will tell. At most it represents a 30 - 45 min. time saving to us. If it's possible and painless, I'll do it. If not, our first Tennants at the Rose & Crown will be slightly later than planned.

A cynical comment, guests who take ME won't be getting a grocery stop from a TC and might skip a rental car. Those guests might be expected to spend more money on Disney property and less money off site. Disney may be factoring that into the cost of providing ME.

May 11 might not be early enough to hear from enough people who are trying for a luggage only transfer. I'd either go with ME or the TC I wouldn't try to beat the system.

I'll be taking DME on May 8. I jumped at the chance to do so. There are 6 of us, 4 adults and 2 kids. A minivan car service would have cost us about $120 or so. I'm saving time not waiting at baggage claim, and also saving time not making a 30-minute grocery stop, so any wait time I have should be offset by those time savings. I'll be getting a grocery delivery from Gooding's (by Internet) -- there's a $50 minimum and $10 delivery fee. I'll have no trouble making the $50 minimum with 6 people, and the $10 fee is more than offset by the $120 savings. Yes, the variety on Gooding's website is limited, but I e-mailed them and they said I can request anything not on there, and if they don't carry what I want they'll notify me in advance. Sounds like a convenience and time-saver to me.

I return late on May 14, and I'll post my DME experiences on May 15.

Ah hah...but wegoshop.com does. Put your order in and they deliver right to your resort at a predetermined time. Beer and wine included, as long as you have age proof!!

And Bill, I will have to agree that your method of sending out the buses does make sense to me. My luck I'll get there just as the Epcot resort bus is closing it's door!!
