Can I Use A Hole Punch on My Disney Gift Cards?

I have some stretchy plastic cords that I can use to clip to my belt loops or where around my wrist and I was thinking that it would be a good way to hold my Disney gift cards and have them at the ready when I need them instead of digging through my purse and/or wallet.
I know they had those gift cards with a wrist strap for the food and wine fest last year but my Disney Store does not refill gift cards so I have three different cards with varying amounts on them.
Do you think there would be any problem if I punch a hole through on the corner of the cards and attach them on a split ring and keep them together on my strechy cord? Has anyone does this? Doesn't seem like it would be a problem but you never know.
