Can I upgrade at check-in w/ my reduced rate?

We received the e-mail code but couldn't use it on our Wl ressie because the resort was booked. I was able to do a split stay and apply it to a two night room only ressie at the Poly (I received $60 off per night). When I booked there were no concierge rooms available so we just got a garden view room. If I asked if there was any availability at check-in (on the off chance someone cancelled their ressie) would they give me the option of upgrading for an amount that would still reflect my pin code discount or would they only offer me the rack rate?

The front desk is not able to book anything other than rack rate, but they can call guest services to see if the disocounted rate is available..my advice would be to call cro before you check-in and illiminate the middle man (front desk.) Or just ask for a complimentary upgrade, but don't get upset if they say no. It can't hurt to ask..
