Can I transfer points from one contract to another?

I have two BCV contracts. 100 points and 175 points. Same use year.

Looking at the points history, I see that I have 80 points left in my 175 contract. I've used up the 100 point contract already for this year. Is there a way to transfer those 80 points from my 175 point contract to the 100 point contract? Does that make sense?

I am thinking of selling the 100 point contract and would prefer it be on the market with the 80 points, so it's not "stripped." I'll just end up banking those 80 points eventually anyway in the other contract since I won't be using them in 2009. Thanks.

IT wouldn't work that way, because I think they cancel all transactions when the sale happens.

When I asked this question of T Yeary from the TTS he suggested I do just what you are saying if I decided to put the contract with few or no points on the market since I had points in another contract. I think that transferrring is a non reversible transaction but to be safe I would ask one of the timeshare salespeople. It would definitely have to be listed as having 80 points that are available from whatever dates they are good for. I think they can also be banked depending on all the banking deadlines etc.

Fortunately I did not have to put the contract on the market so never tested the system myself.

Yes, you could transfer points from one account into another. It is an irreversible transaction and would not be affected by a sale.

If there are any existing reservations for that account, DVC will cancel those when the contract is sold - so if that is the case, make sure to use any exsiting reservations before selling.

Thanks. I thought it could done, but I figured the experts here would know. Something to think about for sure. :)

That really surprises me. I would think it would be similar to making a reservation and selling before the reservation happend.

Points transfers are irreversible, just like banking or borrowing. Disney doesn't reverse any of those those for a sale, they just cancel pending reservations.
