Can I tip with my Disney Visa?

We have the dining plan already lined up for our upcoming Feb trip. My question is fairly straightforward.

Is it ok for me to put the big tips (from character dinners, etc) on my Disney Visa card? We try to put everything on our Disney card - as we will have over $500.00 of reward dollars for this trip- and I realize that the tip for a group of 6 at some of these dinners will be quite large. Is it in poor taste to ask your server to put the tip on the card???

Or should I just bring a whole lot of extra cash to pay for it?

I'm not sure if it's proper etiquette or not, but we always tip on the credit card, mostly because we rarely carry cash except for a few dollars here and there. :)

We always tie our credit card to our key, and use that for every transaction in Disney. This included any tips at the restaurants. But if you wanted to have an ice cream vendor "keep the change", cash is the only option there.

So let me see if I understand this... If I put my Disney Visa credit card tied to my room key... when we go to Chef Mickeys the meal charge will be covered by the dining plan, so I'll just write in the tip, and it will automatically go to my credit card on file (Disney Visa)?

Yes. That is exactly how I used it on my last trip.. I also like this method, so there is only one charge on my credit card for the entire trip. Makes it easier to keep track once I get home..

When you check into your resort the CM who checks you in will ask you if you want to tie a credit card to your key. It doesn't have to be your Disney Visa, but that works best because you add more reward to your account. It's so much easier in the parks to just keep track of one card. We rarely use any cash at all.

Thanks for the info! Since this will be our first trip, I am learning ALOT!! I really like this idea!
