Can I still ride Indy?

I will be almost four months pregnant when we go to DL in June. I don't care about missing out on the roller coasters because my dh doesn't ride them anyway. I've also ridden Splash mountain tons of times at WDW. But I really wanted to try Indy, since it's not at WDW. Anyone ridden Indy pregnant?:confused3

Indy is pretty rough. It tosses you around quite a bit as it simulates a jeep ride on rough roads through a jungle. There are sudden drops too.

Only you can decide what's best for you and your baby. I'm a grandmother now, but I remember doing crazy things like belly-flops on a slip'n'slide when I was pregnant with my son. Amazing that I made it full term with him. :rotfl:

It's essentially the same ride as Dinosaur at AK. Would you ride that while pregnant? Indy isn't quite as rough from what I remember Disnosaur being like (certainly not as scary), but it's still a rough, bouncy ride.

I wouldn't take the risk, for me, I err on being conservative because a 3 minute ride isn't worth the potential hazard...

Way too rough to ride while pregnant. I'm pretty lax on that stuff (rode BTMRR while pregnant) but even I would not ride Indy. The ride is great, but not worth the risk.

If you are four months than you are likely going to be showing so even if you do try to ride, they may not let you. I saw a woman they refused to let board on Indy once and since she was pregnant, I assume that was why. She was extremely pregnant however.

I agree with Iceskatejen, its not quite as bumpy as Dinosaur, but you do get thrown around quite a bit with lots of bouncing up and down in your seat.

I hope you have a great trip, before you know it, you'll be riding that with the little one you are carrying and you can give him/her a hard time for making you miss it way back when!

I think it's too rough. It's very jerky with sudden twists, turns and drops. I would not have wanted to take the risk when I was pregnant - even at 4 months. The ride's not going anywhere and I'm sure you'll return with your family after this baby - right? Go enjoy a Dole whip with your baby-to-be while others do the ride.

I don't think I would ride Indy pregnant. It's pretty jerky.

I wouldnt do it either.. I think that its way too rough.

Some of the rides that they tell you not to ride are because they will be uncomfortable for a pregnant woman. Others are for safety. I don't know which rides are which, however. I rode Dinosaur at AK while 2.5 months pregnant and I was not uncomfortable. Now I'm at 4 months and I do think that I would not be comfortable. At Dinosaur I asked about the similarities between Indy and Dinosaur and I was told they were the exact same tracks and the exact same cars.

I posted a similar question a few months ago and was told to consult my OB. Unfortunately, his office staff didn't seem to know a thing about any of the rides at Disney so they weren't very helpful. You might try your doctor, though.

Please dont!!! It's a jerky ride!!!

From a mother of 4.

I wouldn't. On my first ride on Indy, there were a couple sharp, jerky turns where I felt like I was hanging halfway out of the vehicle! One hand had a death grip on the steering wheel, and the other arm thrown across DS6's body to try to cushion him a bit. :lmao:

Being that there's not too much pressure at 4 mos I'd think it would be easier on you both than if you were say 6- 8 mos along......but just to be safe I'd steer clear. If you are showing by 4 mos ( I wasn't w/ my 1st but was huge by then w/ my 2nd) - they'll tell you no way.

I went while in college & haven't been back on since b/c DD was too short last time. :sad1:
