Can I set spending limit on MB for child?

We do the gift cards each trip (make sure you get ones that can be used in the Parks, as some are only good at the Disney Store locations). Grandparents or others (or your child, if they have saved up) can add to the card. You can add to it at the parks or on the cruises, in the gift shops, or you can pay for part of purchase with a GC and part with your MB, credit card or cash (say they just go $1-2 over or somthing and you want to spot them). It helped our kids, even at a very young age, to not ask for everything that they saw. If they asked, I just said, of course you can have that toy, Mickey bar, glow ears, etc, if you want to spend your card on it. That lead to a lot of contemplation and wise decision making about how to spend. It was great, and we still use it today (they are now 9 and 11, started this at ages 4 and 6). If they don't spend it all, it can also be used online and at Disney retail stores. The balance left prints out on their receipt, or the gift shops can just tell them the remaining balance without them purchasing anything. I just wrap the most recent receipt around the card so we can see the remaining balance when they pull it out the next time to buy somthing.

QUESTION -- So if two friends went to Disney and shared a hotel room, they would not be able to link their own credit card to their MB? (So one person would always have to use a credit card rather than their MB for purchases?)

You can. I went with my girl friend and we had our own credit cards on our magic bands. Just go to guest services and they will do it for you

You definitely can.

My cousin was in WDW for her 35th birthday. I was able to call and put money on her magic band as a birthday gift. I'm assuming since I was able to do that over the phone, you'd have no problem doing that while you are there if you wanted to.

You can't put money on a magic band. You just use it to charge to the room. Maybe they let you give her room folio a credit?

When I activated charging privileges for DS, the CM at the desk actually asked me if I wanted to set a limit for him. I can't remember if it was a daily limit or total limit. For some reason I am leaning toward daily.

both are options you can set and you can set them together.

That makes sense. I didn't do either because he could be trusted to stay within his limit and if he had gone over, I would have just taken it out of his bank account. I think he has re money than I do :-)
