Can I return my park tickets?

I booked my hotel and park tickets separately. I bought the park tix through Disney and booked an on-site hotel through a 3rd party. I am now considering switching to the Play Stay and Dine offer but am not sure if I can get a refund on my tickets. I know I could call Disney and ask but I don't want to spend too much time running the numbers if it can't be done anyways.

"Officially," tickets are non-refundable.

But, there are times when Disney will help you out.

The other thing to know is that new tickets which are never used at all,
will remain valid until such time as they ARE used, even if years into the future.

And the price WILL be higher, if bought years in the future.

Just called. Took about an hour on the phone but I was able to book the SPD package and cancel my tickets. They tried to sell me on keeping them for a future trip but I just politely refused. They were pretty stern with their "one time exception only" but they did do it. Did lose my fast passes but will just rebook them.
