I have a question that I am hoping someone can answer for me. I have made arrangements to rent points from a DVC owner for our trip in October. After doing more research, we may be interested in upgrading to a 1BR. The family that we are renting from does not have any additional points to rent out and I absolutely will not back out on our deal. We are waitlisted at their home resort BWV for a studio. We do not mind staying at any of the other DVC resorts as I love all of them. The family has even offered to try the other resorts for us when the 7 month window opens (not for another month). We have not even given them a deposit and they have gone all out for us. I did offer to give them a deposit but they declined. They are awesome. Anyway back to my question. Can I rent additional points from another member and upgrade our ressies to the 1BR? Or do I need to make 2 separate ressies and request that we keep the same room for the 2nd ressie?

Thanks everyone!

You cannot use points from two different people for one night. If you want a 1 bdrm for the whole time, you would have to have the first people switch to the waitlist for a 1 bdrm for as many nights as they could "afford" (You would lose your spot on the waitlist and be at the end of the list again) and have the new people book you a 1 bdrm for the rest of the time. I am not sure if you could link the two 1 bdrms from different owners together so that you wouldn't have to check out and in again. Does anyone else know?

You will have to have 2 separate reservations if you have 2 different members making reservations for you. You can have the 2nd member request that their reservation is linked to your first reservation (give them the 1st reservation number) and that request will be noted, but not guaranteed. You should also make the request again at check-in to make sure it was understood. You will have to check in twice however, as these will still be separate reservations. You will have no ability to combine the points involved unless you can find two members willing to transfer their points for you.

Good Luck!

If you get reservations from 2 different people, you could have them linked and it would function like one reservation and you would not need to check in and out assuming it was at the same resort and same unit size.
