Hello Fellow DVCers,

I have a Gold Pass that was set to expire last May. Now with all of the extensions, it will expire on October 10. Will I be able to renew this pass? I have trips in March and August and plan on making another reservation for next September, so I'm really interested in renewing it.

Thanks in advance.

You should be able to renew for the new expiration date. We had gold passes, the option to renew for gold wasn’t online for us, but we also decided to upgrade to platinum plus. Which we were able to do online. You may just have to call if it’s not an option.

Log in on a computer to your My Disney account and click “profile” under your account icon (upper right), then select tickets and passes.... it should display your gold passes and have a drop down next to it for renewing.

Disney is allowing Annual Pass renewals. DVC priced APs can only be renewed in person at WDW or by calling Member Services.

Yes you can renew. We renewed ours they day they allowed it. We have a trip coming up in November.

Thank you all so much for your replies. I am now very excited about renewing my annual pass!

Are they allowing upgrades from Gold to Platinum even if your pass isn't expiring? I need Platinum passes for my Xmas stay.

I think you will have a hard time. I managed to get my Gold AP certificates that were not yet activated upgraded to Platinum over the phone, but it took a long time on the phone and I think the CM may have gotten special approval to do it. Initially the answer was no and I got transferred around a lot before someone could help me.

I’m in the same boat, and everything I’ve read in all the various AP-related threads says no, can’t upgrade right now unless it’s done as part of renewing the pass. I’m hoping that will change in time for us to upgrade and make park pass reservations to match our kids’ and grandkids’! I don’t really want to buy regular tickets for that trip when our APs don’t expire until March!

Right off - we have had APs - GPs for a solid decade. ALWAYS renewed.
This year? We took the compensation for our last set - and immediately bought a NEW set of GPs, before the lockdown.

Please? DO NOT RENEW. Renewal starts ticking on your anniversary date. A NEW AP, unactivated, gives you valid "tickets" at any time - and the ability to BAIL on an iffy vacation, with zero ticket loss, up to 2030.

Personal opinion? Get whatever refund you can, on existing APs. Apply the cash to a NEW AP, un-redeemed. No new APs? Get the refund, and WAIT, until WDW wants you back.
That may work for you and your situation, but not the best advice for all situations.
One must realistically look at their planned visits, assess whether or not they will actually make those visits, do the math, and then make an informed decision.

Well said. Now that my plan is to go monthly for 5 months and then every other it won’t make sense not to renew at this point.

I had been doing that when I could get 5 years out of 3 passes. But I was only going 3 to 4 times.
