Can I go straight from MCO to MK?

My flight lands at 9p on a Saturday night where MK has EMH until 3 AM. I will have a rental car and would love to be able to go straight to MK to maybe catch Wishes at 10p and MSEP at 11p and stay for EMH.

Can I make it in time? And will I have any problems with my MB not working since I wouldn't have checked in yet? The tickets are separate from my room reservation, but are linked on MDE. I doubt parking will still be working that late, so I shouldn't need to worry about the parking charge. Will they let me on rides during EMH if I haven't officially checked in?

Hope this helps.

It's possible but I wouldn't count on making Wishes. Assuming your flight is on time, you need to leave the plane, collect your luggage, go and pick up your rental car and then drive to MK. It's about 38 kilometres and usually takes about 30 minutes to MCO to MK.

If you were going to attempt this, you would be better valet parking at the Contemporary so you can walk to MK. If you park at TTC, you'll need to wait for a monorail, the boat or possibly a bus. You should make MSEP assuming no delays.

Magic Bands always have the chance to glitch. You won't have a problem because you haven't checked in. If the tickets are linked on your MDE and you can see both tickets and your Magic Band, you should be good to go.

Yes because they can still see your reservation which will be for that day. Your other option is to do an online check in. However this shouldn't affect your ability to use EMH as can see you're checking in today.

I can't imagine you landing in MCO at 9pm, getting off the plane, collect your luggage, get your rental car, and drive to MK, park, get boat/monorail, bag check and sort out your park ticket/MB all within 1 hour. But I applaud your enthusiasm! I would be tempted to do it myself. Even if you can't make it for Wishes, try to make it for MSEP and EMH. One tip I read is that you could actually watch Wishes from the TTC, the music is piped in and the view is supposed to be OK. You might be able to make it that far in an hour, then continue on to MK after Wishes.

As for your MB/ticket questions, I assume that you can get your MB/ticket activated at the front gate of MK. For EMH, I know they scanned my MB to check what resort I stayed at before they let me on any ride, so you may have an issue there.

The Magic Band doesn't have to be activated to use ticket media, it's active from the time it's shipped. ;)

The CM can see they have a reservation. Even if you haven't checked in, you can still access EMH.

Thanks guys!

I have been wanting to see Wishes from the Poly Beach or somewhere around the lake for a while now, so that would actually be perfect to watch from the TTC. Then when it is over, I can be going across or around the lake when everyone else is coming my direction. That might actually work pretty good.

I don't think thee is any way you can make it in time for Wishes, no matter where you want to watch them.

It would take a miracle for you to get to the TTC in time for Wishes.

You can try to make it, but I wouldn't have your heart set on any of it.

For a 9 pm flight to actually land on time requires no weather delays anywhere on the aircraft's schedule that day, not to mention maintenance or other issues.

We had a morning nonstop scheduled from Ohio to LAX, arriving about 10 am, with a fun day at Disneyland planned. Several flight and aircraft changes later, we finally arrived at 9 pm. Best laid plans...

Best of luck, relax and have fun no matter what happens!

It is certainly possible and a very ambitious plan. I admire your gusto and think you will have very low crowds. I hope you get there and can still feel good the next morning.

I am traveling solo and am not going to have any checked baggage, so I won't have to deal with waiting for that but I will have to pick up the rental car but at least I don't have to worry about anyone else's pokiness or disappointment if it doesn't happen. It is a major long shot but if I miss Wishes that night it won't be a big deal, I would probably still go on in for MSEP and low lines. MK at night is my favorite part of any trip and I have never been in for a 3am EMH.

When does your day start? Even without a long travel day, staying until 3 AM would certainly ruin the next day. Maybe even a few days.

The only concern I have would be your hotel, if you intend to stay at MK until 3am. At some point between about 1am and 5am, the night audit staff processes "no shows". If you haven't checked in, they could mark you as a no show which cancels your reservation. Even if this doesn't happen, with arriving that late, you do run the risk of being bumped to another resort if your resort is overbooked, since it sounds like you're going at a busy time of year.

The computers switch over at 6.

And with online checkin you can tell them when you plan to get there, and the hours went well into the wee hours of the night when I needed to do that.

But I'm another in the "best laid plans" camp. Our flight was slated to arrive at 4:25. Then there was some sort of emergency on the and that wiser us to go back to the jetway, wait for paramedics, and wait for them to do...something with someone. Then we had to wait for clearance again, taxi, wait and sit, and then we flew. In orlando as we taxied we were told to sit tight as we had to wait for paramedics to board and take off the person who had the initial emergency. (Still curious about what sort of problem it might have been that allowed them to fly)

We were over an hour late, and everything just took longer than expected.

On the other hand, the evening was nice. We ate, we rode, FP+s were rearranged as needed, and MK was open a surprise extra hour. That last part is unlikely for the op but it could still be fun.

The computers "switch over" at 6am because that's what time the night audit shift ends, so that's the time all "no shows" are done being processed as well as credit card charges are done. Having worked for a popular hotel chain, I can tell you that both processes are manual ones so they are done during the overnight. We used to do no shows and any fees around 2am. Sometimes it took 10 minutes, sometimes it took an hour. Sometimes it didn't happen until 4am. No way to know what time the hotel will do it.

As far as online check-in, it's true that you can notate your arrival time but since it is a manual process, I might be a little concerned it would be overlooked. Not sure if their night audit staff would cross-reference that or not.

Well, I think I have decided to forget the folly of trying to make it to MK that night. :rotfl2: I will plan to check-in at my resort as normal and then if there is 3-4 hours time left at MK AND I have energy I might go just for grins. :rotfl2:

My flight actually lands at 8:55p and I think my brain kept reading the 8p part and forgetting the :55 part!

Thanks for all of your advice!
