Can I get Palo souffle at one of the other restaurants?

We're taking our first cruise in December and are trying to decide about booking Palo. I really would like to try the chocolate souffle and wondered - if we don't get in to Palo, can I request to have this dessert one of the other nights? I read a thread where someone said their server got it for them, just wondered if anyone else has experienced this? Thanks!

Ask your head server the first night and I'm sure he/she will try and arrange it for you for a future night...it has happened in the past.

...now...I personally think there are two other Palo desserts that are better....:rolleyes1

.

If this is your first cruise experience the dining rooms and leave Palo for another trip.

We find Palo for dinner to be very overrated. We love the Palo brunch.

I disagree about leaving Palo for another cruise. IMHO all of the other restaurant are not worth much. Palo is to die for and there are no kids. I love having a nice quiet night with adults only.

I would actually book both dinner and brunch.

There is a new dessert at Palo that is really good... Chocolate Raspberry Indulgence.

We did successfully get our head waiter, fitz, to bring palo soufflé to our entire table of 6 in parrot cay back in 2008. But we had to work him HARD all week to get it and we didn't think we had been successful. He surprised us the last night. I think part of why we got him to do it is all of us where enjoying each others company so much (and our servers) that we CANCELLED our Palo reservations to stay in the dining room together. We ended up meeting up in one dining room or another for all meals which he saw (he called us his troublemakers and said we were making the other guests feel bad because we were having too much fun).

So anyway, don't count on it-but it has been done. :)

On one of our cruises our friend got reservations for Palo just to have the desserts. Not sure how she did it but it's worth a try with your head waiter.

The Panna Cotta, for one. I love extra creamy milk chocolate, not a fan of dark, semi or baking chocolates so the souffle has never been the omg thing it is for others to begin with.

... and those are ...?
(How nasty to build up the suspense like that :rotfl2:)

Yep, Panna Cotta (especially great after a heavy meal)! :thumbsup2

And the Chocolate Indulgence (it was Amaretto flavored the last time I had it and I'd like that better than raspberry).:thumbsup2

Palo fan here. I've booked dinner, brunch AND high tea for our Dec cruise.

I'd probably have skipped the tea this time but my inlaws will be with us and they haven't seen to Palo yet at all. We usually do at least one Palo dinner and try to get in for a second night if they have room for us.

Mmmh, those both do sound heavenly! I'm pretty sure that it'll have to be the Chocolate Indulgence for me, no matter whether raspberry or amaretto - that's both great! :lovestruc

Now to convince DH to order the Panna Cotta so that I get to try that one too :thumbsup2

No need to have DH order it (unless he wants to). Just ask your server - they are more than happy to bring more than one!

We are just the opposite and think the brunch is overrated. We like the brunch and will do it on longer cruises only, but love the dinner as it's more of a special occasion or "event".

I agree with the Panna Cotta! My favorite dessert anywhere!

Palo brunch is my favorite meal onboard. I love all the the cheeses, dessert, pastry, chicken parmesan, hubby loves the grape and bleu cheese pizza and all the seafood choices.

Dinner is great as well, but we have cruised many times and have skipped Palo at dinner. It is really a personal choice. My first cruise was a 3 night, and we skipped Palo to experience the dining rooms. The next cruise, we booked Palo, and did every other cruise or so.

I talked with my head server back in December, and he helped me get a Palo souffle for dinner. He asked if he could do this request on the last night as to not entice the entire dining room. We were on the Magic, and had decided to skip Palo, but I wanted the souffle. One other option, the Grand Marinier souflle in the main dining room is incredible as well!

Have a great cruise!

Palo is a good get away. Just book it and enjoy a great evening. You will thank everyone who answered your post.

About your dessert...I'm sure if you let your waiter know a day ahead he will have it for you.

But don't forget that tip enevlope and the end of the cruise.

I knew I left off part of the description... Amaretto was in there. It was so good!!

Or the Panna Cotta?

With such choices, just choose both.
