I read on the Budget Board that a woman from Philly (like me) got a terrific flight deal through Disney (NOT DVC). I tried both Member Services, and Disney, and they both say I can't get flights through either. Is this true, or did I get bad info?

Does Disney only give good flight prices for those who are non-DVC members booking a total package? This woman said she priced out a land-based vacation, got her price, then asked about flights. The total price was under $800 for all four of them from Philly to MCO. That is far less than I can find.

Strange, and frustrating!

That is correct.

You would have to book a package thru CRO in order to have access to package amenities.

The prices have not always been that great or competitive, but this year it seems CRO has access to less expensive inventory.

Sorry for the question, but I'm also lloking for some cheap flights and don't know what is a CRO
thanks

CRO (Central Reservation Office) or DRC (Disney Reservation Center) is the office you call to book Disney vacation packages through the Walt Disney Travel Company.

If you don't care about flight times, try priceline. We did it once and worked out great. They only bad part was we left WDW at 5am or something awful. But that's all we could get this year too, so it's not so bad. I don't remember what we paid, but went from Detroit to Orlando for about 1/2 what it would cost us normally. I think we flew Delta.

Could you add stays through CRO on the beginning and end of your trip to get CRO to make flight arrangements??

What about Southwest. THey have a direct flight out of New Orleans for us that I can only see on their website--not any of the other sites like Expedia. They usually have decent fare and the fall schedule opens in a couple of days I believe.

I plugged in our dates 4/30-5/8 and found a Non stop flt out of Philly non stop for $110 on 4/30 for 5:45 p.m. then coming back a flt non stop out at 7:25 for $137. I didn't think that was too bad, especially when it is direct. DH and I drive 2 hours west to New Orleans to take a direct flight east for 1:45 minutes non stop. He has issues with traveling. Our tickets were around $108 each way and then I always add the Early bird checkin for better seating.

Hmmm... I thought Disney stopped doing airfares via CRO a while back. Weird. Obviously, I'm remembering something wrong, but I specifically remember calling once (maybe a long time ago) and being told they don't do that anymore. Admittedly, it's been a while since I booked a trip through Disney travel.

Our trip on Dec. we paid $79 down and $89 back from Des Moines on AirTran. We could not find anything that good for our April trip. I think for April we are paying $109 down and $129 back. The price of gas and oil will not be a friend to us travelers!
