When at our resort if we order a quick service meal can we get a bottle of coke with our meal even though we have the refillable mug? Thinking about using our mugs for our meal and take the bottle back to our room for later.

I was wondering the same thing, but I don't think you can if you're on the QS plan. However, I think a beverage (even alcoholic!) is included in the regular DDP. Well, actually, I think that even on the QS plan, you get one "snack or beverage" per day. However, if you do choose the bottle of Coke, you don't get a snack (which is often a dessert).

I haven't used the QSDP in years but this is what's included for a "meal" (not using the snack credit). It reads as though you can get a beverage other than using the mug, however it may depend on the offerings at the specific QS location; maybe a bottled soda or possibly a paper cup to fill from the beverage area.

Quick-Service Meal
Meals redeemed at breakfast, lunch or dinner will include:
  • 1 Entrée
  • 1 Nonalcoholic Beverage (or Alcoholic Beverage, for Guests 21 and older)
Alcoholic Beverages
Guests 21 and older may choose either one nonalcoholic beverage or one-single serving mixed cocktail, beer or wine (where offered) as part of their meal.

A single-serving alcoholic beverage includes items such as:
  • Beer or Cider
  • Wine or Sangria
  • Mixed Drinks and Specialty Cocktails
Nonalcoholic Beverages
Guests 10 years of age and older can choose one nonalcoholic beverage (including specialty beverages where offered) as part of their meal.

A single-serving nonalcoholic beverage includes items such as:
  • Milkshakes
  • Fresh Smoothies
  • Premium Hot Chocolate
  • Soda, Coffee or Tea

Beverages, including alcohol, are included with both TS and QS credits.

It might depend on the QS offerings, I don't eat QS a ton, and I feel like I've usually been handed a fountain drink cup?

Each resort counter service has individual bottled beverages of pop/water/juice/milk/wine/beer etc….that you can get with your quick service meal.

If you’re on the dining plan, maybe they’ve handed you a fountain drink cup because you’ve not brought a bottle up with your entree, so they figured they’d just give you a cup.

Are you on a dining plan? If not, then no, you can't show your mug and get a bottle of soda instead. Refillable mugs can only be used at resort refill stations. If on a dining plan and they have bottles, I believe you can - though I would ask first to confirm.

The refillable mug itself only allows for refills. If you received the mug as part of a dining plan, those meals include a beverage and depending on location might have bottles/cans available. Keep in mind some places will only have fountain soda though. As mentioned you can also use snack credits for non-fountain soda.

If you are on the quick service plan, you get 2 quick service meals per day and 2 drinks (alcoholic or non-alcoholic).

As well as that, you also get one snack per day. You can use your snack credit for an additional beverage if you wish, (instead of a food item) as long as it’s not alcoholic.

Plus you have your refillable mug.

Thanks so much for correcting me. I was kind of bummed, thinking that when I was in the park, I wouldn't get a beverage. Glad to find out I was wrong, or rather "not as right as usual" as my grandmother used to say.

Only thing to remember is that most QS locations in the parks don’t have bottled soda, it’s all fountain soda. It is included in your DP (a drink with your meal, alcoholic or non). Some of the resorts do have bottled soda, which might count as included??? Or they might give you a paper cup for the included drink, it’s a good question. You can always use a snack credit for a bottled soda, but it’s not really a good use of a snack credit.

If you are on the dining plan and you are getting a quick service entree from a resort, you can get a single serve beverage (bottle, can, carton, etc….) with your meal as part of the plan.

I can’t think of a single resort counter service that offers fountain beverages only, though some resort counter services offer more variety of bottled/canned beverages than others.
