:mad:I ordered stamps online LAST Friday, the 12th, and STILL haven't received them! I emailed them 3 days ago, asking for a response, and they emailed me back with a link to a customer service survey! I then tried the phone center tree (toughest one I ever, ever encountered), and was finally transfered to a rep - got a recording saying they're closed.

I need these stamps (holiday) for my 100 christmas cards which have been done for 2 weeks now. I don't want to buy them locally, because what the heck am I going to do with 100 holiday stamps after christmas?! I pay bill online, and have enough forever stamps to last for years!

I ordered online because their website claims 2 - 5 business days for delivery, and I had time (10 days ago that is). So frustrating! :headache:

When were they sent? 5 business days for delivery only starts after they are shipped.

Sundays are not included in that delivery range since they do not deliver on Sunday. And as the PP said--delivery time is when it is processed unless they posted otherwise.

In any case--the post office is a monopoly and it is the govt and the BBB won't really do anything.

Actually, the website states items should be received within 3 - 5 business days (I double checked). So, I definitely expected them last week. They arrived tonight, and the kids are putting them on the cards now, and I'll drive them over to the post office. It's just frustrating having no way to get an answer, even though their website asks if you want a response to your email, and that you can call and speak with a representive, when you can't.

I was jking about the BBB - it's a shame that this is run so poorly, because there is nothing consumers can do about it!

I'm looking at their site, just went to one random winter stamp.

I see:

The Postal Store ships all in stock orders within 1 Business day and sends them via Priority Mail with Delivery Confirmation or First Class Mail and should arrive within 3-5 Business Days. All stamp orders are charged a $1.00 Handling Fee, regardless of order amount. All other products are charged standard Priority Mail fees based on weight of the item and shipping address ZIP Code.

If your order contains pre- or backordered, all in stock products will ship within 1 Business Day and any pre- or backordered items will ship separately.

So you ordered on a Friday. Which means the next business day was Monday the 14th, unless you ordered after business hours on Friday, which would mean the next business day was Tuesday. Then being sent out by 3-5 business day shipping puts it at arriving today or tomorrow, depending on what day it was shipped.

And that is IF they didn't go backordered.

They didn't reply with words *at all* in the email? Only the link to the survey? Could it have been one of those "filler" emails, that say "we want you to know we got your email and will be replying, but for now if you wish you can fill out the survey"? Or something like that...I get 'em from various places. :) If it was ONLY the survey and nothing else, write them back! Because that's a rep that didn't read anything you wrote.

********

Just saw your update. So ordering on that Friday means they probably shipped last Monday, and today was the 5th business day from then, and they are absolutely ON TIME.

i'm glad you got your stamps. i sent a $250 gift card by priority mail last year, and it NEVER arrived. luckily, the company i got it from replaced it for me, because the USPS was absolutely NO help.

OP, where do you live? Remember that the east coast is slammed with this snowstorm right now, and it might be that they haven't been able to get things out yet. We didn't get mail delivery Saturday or today, and it's looking doubtful we'll get any tomorrow too. Just playing Devil's Advocate here.

I don't understand the part that I bolded.. If you wanted 100 holiday stamps for your Christmas cards, why did you have to buy them online? If you purchased them locally, you still would have used those 100 holiday stamps on the cards - right? Why would you still have them after Christmas if you bought them locally? :confused3

Not being difficult here - and I'm glad they finally arrived - I just don't understand the difference of buying them online or locally - since the 100 stamps were still going to be used for the same thing..:santa:

That's government for you!!!!

some of "them" do post on these boards-like myself!

Great! Perhaps you can explain what happened between here and Florida with a package worth hundreds and hundreds of dollars? Because I am unable to get any response from the Postal Inspector.

Thanks!

My mom mailed my cousin and her husband gift cards last year for christmas, and they never got them. I swear they get stolen while being transported by usps.

Call me crazy but if I have to send a gift card I put them in a "mourn card".(don't know the exact words). An envelop with a black line or cross never gets opened.

Very frustrating. I got a PO's hours off their website, and when I went (out of town), it was closed. When I went back the next day, I told them, and she said "Oh, those hours are wrong." Yet, there didn't seem to be a way to get through to a live person to confirm what the hours were.

Because if she went to the post office to get the stamps at this point, she still had the other stamps ordered and would end up with 200 stamps.

Got it! I was just confused as to why she ordered them online when she could have just gone to the post office to get them.. But - all's well that ends well..:santa:

Mine took a little longer this time as well. Season, I guess. And now with the east coast storm, if your stamps are in route thru the east, they cold be even a little longer.

But if she'd gone to the post office originally, she could have purchased exactly the number of stamps she needed - assuming it wasn't actually 100 - and not had to worry about 'leftovers', and saved the $1 shipping fee and all the worry and aggravation.

I at first thought the OP ordered stamps by mail because there wasn't a post office convenient to her, but apparently there is.

Yet, there didn't seem to be a way to get through to a live person to confirm what the hours were.
Yep. With the post office, even the usual methods of getting past the voice response phone system doesn't work. The only way to know the phone number is to, well, know the phone number - although I think specific PO hours can be obtained from the voice tree.

I live in a very crowded part of NJ - our post offices are OLD and very, very crowded. I ordered them online last year, too, and they were much quicker.

Okay, well, thanks for the clarification. Based on what others have posted, given the one business day for processing plus the three to five business days for delivery - yes, yesterday was the far end of the process period, but still within their posted timing.
