We are going to MNSSHP one day of our trip, and will not be using a regular park ticket that day. Becuase we have non expiring tickets linked to our MDE for more days than we plan to go this trip, I was able to make FP+ for the MNSSHP day between 4 and 7. Since you can enter the park at 4 with just a party ticket we will be there in the 4-7 window. But will I be able to use those FPs with the magicband if we only used party ticket that day? It seems unlikely, I assume they FP+ will only work if a regular ticket was used that day, but I wondered if anyone knows for sure?

Did that make sense? It was kind of hard to put into writing :lmao:

1- AT THE PRESENT TIME, that is possible to do.

2- There are rumors that the current situation that allows the use of FP+ for tickets not scanned at the gate will be altered.
It may or may not be altered by the time of your party date.

This is similar to my thought of buying 2 tickets to park and using both of them for myself in order to get 6 FP+ (although it would cost me about an extra $35 per day or $12 a FP). I was thinking of this for between X-Mas and New Years as a crazy idea of mine. I was hoping to not have to got through the turnstile twice and that the 2nd ticket could just be used without scanning (like once the first FP+ is used the ticket is used for that day). I bet it would look weird to enter the park and then proceed directly to the exit, and then enter again (with a different magic band attached to a different MDE account).

I did the very thing that you are thinking of doing last November, and it worked perfectly. We also did a similar thing in December and April where we used magic bands that had not been used for admission purposes for FP+ purposes. Another poster said that this loophole is slated to be closed by Disney, so you may or may not get your plan to work this fall :)

Hey, thanks so much for replying. So I'm not crazy that I thought maybe it was possible :lmao:

We're going September 16th, I'll try to keep my eyes on the boards to see if anything changes before then. It would be cool if it works, a chance to ride the mine train without much wait again after our full MK day :):)

How did you do this if it didn't involve a party ticket? I thought all of the magic bands were essentially the same - that we could use any of our old ones or the current ones to get into the parks and our room. I've never tried it, I meant to next time, but that's what a "ticket specialist" told me when I had MDE problems last November.

There is a method a few are doing right now which involves using magicbands from an old trip and making a new MDE account for their new trip with new magicbands attached to that account. Their old bands are letting them make day of FP+ at kiosks in the part.

For the parties last November, we made the FP+ reservations with our AP's and then entered the park with our Halloween/Christmas tickets. We then used the FP+ reservations that were on our magic bands that were made with our AP's - had no problems using them in the time period of 4-7 pm before the party started.

In April, we had a party of 7 - all staying on property, all with AP's. Some days, not all of us would enter the parks at the same time. We would send the extra magic bands with our teens, who would use all of the FP+ reservations on them to ride attractions more than once. These extra magic bands had not been used for admission, although we could have gotten into any park that we wanted since we have AP's.

As I stated earlier, this loop hole may be closed at any time.

How is this possible if that magic band doesn't have a ticket associated with it?

It's different than the old FP system, the new system assumes since you're in the park, that you somehow got in legitimately.

I believe for awhile the reason for this was that some tickets could NOT be linked to MBs and so people were given MBs without tickets and paper tickets and allowed to use their ticketless MBs for FP+ reservations day of.

Thanks, makes sense. Any way to do this after the fact? (meaning taking my old bands off my current account and linking then to a new MDE account? )

I don't think you can unlink them and link them to a new account. You can only deactivate them but those bands are always going to be attached to the original MDE account.

Yeah that's what I figured. Thanks.
