I want to make reservations at OKW for October. I'm within 7 months so I can use points from any resort. However, the only points I have left for my 2014 UY are at BCV. And I want to use those BCV points for a big trip in the fall of 2015. So could I bank those BCV points into 2015 already (even though my 2014 UY doesn't begin until August), and borrow 2015 points from OKW? I know I can borrow points since it's a 2014 reservation and I'm borrowing from 2015, but I'm most concerned about banking points from the 2014 UY when our 2014 UY hasn't even begun. Or am I "stuck" having to use the BCV points for this 2014 reservation?

I think you can specify which contract to use and borrow the points from your OKW contract to do so without touching the BCV contract. I'm not 100% sure.

If that doesn't work, I would just book a room with the BCV points, book the OKW reservation by borrowing points, then cancel the BCV reservation. Make sense?

I think you'll either have to bank those points first then borrow the OKW points or call MS. The least chance of a foul up is to bank the points first. You're essentially adding risk to the BCV points to pickup the home resort window. I'm not sure you'll actually be able to bank them until the UY begins.

AFAIK you cannot bank those points until your UY starts. The recommendation to make a reservation with them that you can cancel is the route I'd go. Then you can make the other reservation and borrow the points necessary. After that is done go back and cancel the reservation you made with the BCV points and wait to bank until August. Also, unless something has changed this is what MS would have to do as well so it's probably easier to just do it online.

I think if you call you should be able to use your OKW points with no problem without having your BCV points have anything to do with it.

I've always specified which points I want to use.

The OP does not want to use the BCV points for this upcoming trip because she wants to save them to book a trip at BCV and wants to book that trip during the home resort priority period. The trip she is currently considering is less than 7 months away & can be booked with any resort's points, so she wants to use OKW points for it.

She has two contracts under the same membership. The BCV contract has current use year points available (the ones she wants to use later), but the OKW contract has no current use year points available. It does have points in the next use year that could be borrowed for the upcoming trip she is considering.

The OP is worried that MS will make her use the current use year points (from BCV) before she is allowed to borrow any points.

Simba's Mom - FWIW, my understanding is that you cannot bank points before the use year begins. I also believe that you can specify which contract's points you wish to use for the reservation. If MS won't allow it (I'd ask for a supervisor if the first person says no), I'd go with KAT4DISNEY's suggestion - make a dummy BCV reservation that will use the BCV points, make the reservation you want with OKW points and then cancel the BCV reservation. Hope it all works out.

Ok, I got it! Sometimes I am dense. We have two contracts one membership and I have always been able online to choose which contract and how the points are used. I don't think it should be a problem! Good luck!

You can use whatever points you want. I borrowed Dec 2014 points but still had 2013 points. When you book online it ask you what points you want to use, borrow for each contract. At this time I have 16 points on my VB contract for 2013 and 47 left in my AKL 2014 account. Try nothing booking online it should allow you to book with a different contract than BCV. As far as banking wait until 2014 use year starts.
