My parents are taking the whole family on a Disney Cruise next June. We plan on visiting the parks the week before so we can relax a bit on the cruise. We will be staying in a 1BR at BCV and offered my parents to come to Orlando a few days early and stay with us before we head off to the boat.

My question is... Can I book a 1BR for the first 4 or 5 days and then book a 2BR (lock off) for the remining time and us not change rooms? :confused3
In other words the lock off room will be their room.

Any assistance is appreciated! :worship:

Others with experience will have more information, but my guess is that MS will take any request, but they won't guarantee anything.

For example, we requested 2 2-BRs at SSR for spring break. I made ressies with my points and SIL made reservations with hers. Granted...I know it's the busiest time of the year, but... We asked that they be next to each other and asked for a handicapped room. At the time of the reservation, we had a 2-BR lock-off and waitlisted a dedicated. When the waitlist went through, MS didn't transfer the handicapped request. At the end of the day, because MS messed up, we ended up getting 2 rooms right across from each other, though we lost the handicapped room request. The ONLY reason our request was honored was because of their mistake. Originally, though, we were in two completely different sections within SSR. Our room was in the Springs and my BIL/SIL were going to be placed in the Granstand section!!! We wouldn't have even been in the same section, much less building, much less floor!!!

We did this at OKW with the marathon a few years ago. We arrived a few days before our friends who were joining us for the trip. We asked to be blocked into the same one bedroom portion for the entire stay. We had to make sure it was not a dedicated two bedroom for the two bedroom portion of our stay. You just have to have it noted on the reservation. Then when you check in, talk to the front desk to make sure you are set up for the rest of the stay.

I was going to do this for my upcoming trip, but the person talking to at Member Services told me they could not Guarantee me that I would not have to switch rooms. It all depends on who is next to you in the studio and when they check out. You will also have to check out and then check back in.

I decided to keep my 2-br since we may have other people come join us in the beginning of the week.

While it can't be guaranteed, there is a good chance of success as long as the 2 BR is a lockoff. I've done it several times and never had to move. Make your request known and ask them to put it on each reservations, repeat your request at check in and again on the changeover day. You do know you'll have to check back in again on the day things change I'm sure.
