We have owned a few dogs over the years and have never had fleas...well that streak ended today. I noticed our Cockapoo scratching and sure enough looked and noticed fleas. Needless to say, I want this taken care of ASAP!!

Is there anyplace, likes Petsmart, that sells Frontline Plus or K9 Advantix?

Thanks so much!!

I will have to look into the Advantage products. Right now I'm only partial to something that will WORK QUICKLY :)

Yes, though the cheapest prices I have found were at local feed stores and vet offices. PetsMart/Petco are pricey!

I use Frontline Plus, it kills them within 24 hours and kills any eggs. Remember to not bathe 2-3 days before and after application.

Oh no!! I was really hoping I could buy and apply tomorrow, but I've given him three baths today. Will I have to wait to apply?

You'll be fine as long as pup is completely dry, just wait awhile after applying before bathing again. Frontline Plus will kill 100% of fleas within 12 hours and continues to do so for up to 3 months. Some of your feed stores may be open tomorrow... though I know many aren't. PetsMart/Petco may be your only option but it'll be worth whatever you have to pay at that point to get rid of them fast. ;) Some stores will let you buy just 1 dose (that's what I do).

Yep. You have to wait 2 to 3 days before or after a bath to apply the topical products. Ask your vet if they carry Comfortis. There are no bathing restrictions for this product. Another scenario is to give a Capstar tablet while you wait for the post-bathing time to apply Frontline.

Amazon sells advantix, which is what I prefer. We had a horrible time with fleas this past summer, and tried Frontline. Advantix worked and Frontline didn't.

You don't need a prescription for flea products, but you do for heartworm meds.

I've seen (and purchased) Frontline at Costco, and saw it just today at Target in the pet department. I don't remember pricing, though.

Meijer also sells Frontline. We just switched from Advantix to Frontline as Advantix was not doing a thing to kill them off this year. Frontline worked for about 3-4 weeks, then I noticed fleas again on Friday.

I bought Advantix yesterday at Petsmart. Our Petsmart has a veterinarian and a groomer, so it was back there...not with the other flea products. My dogs have never been there and they let buy it.

I've also read all of the information that came with it and it says nothing about not bathing before. I gave both of my dogs a bath this morning and applied Advantix this afternoon.

I love Capstar.. kills those bad boys immediately and then I will use the frontline or advantage.
I would guess u can buy it at Petsmart ( capstar), I just bought it online MUCH cheaper than my vets office.
