Can I borrow in this case?

Can someone here tell me if I could borrow points in this scenario, please. We have 200 points at OKW and 100 at BCV. Suppose I want to take a trip to BCV which will use 130 points. Can I reserve the whole trip at 11 months out, borrowing from my next years BCV points to fill out the reservation, even though I have points at OKW in this year as well? I thought someone told me once that I couldn't borrow from next year's points unless ALL this year's points were used up. But in this case, I know I can't use the OKW points to book BCV at 11 months, so I'm hoping I can borrow from next year's BCV points.

Being that they are two separate contracts it would make sense that you could do that.....MS will surely have the answer...

We do that all the time. For Thanksgiving, we used our Sept 2006 and Sept 2007 points for VWL to get 200 points. We didn't have quite enough, so we made 7 days with what we had. Then as soon as 7 months came, we changed out the days we had studios by adding our OKW points.

Just chiming in to agree - you can borrow even though you still have current year points available. You could borrow even if you still had BCV current year points available.

The only time you can borrow points is when you are actually making a reservation. (You can't just call up MS and say that you want to borrow 100 points).

You do NOT have to use up all your current year points before you can borrow. There are times when it makes sense to borrow before using current use year points. For example, if you are taking two trips during your use year, but the later one is a little "shaky", you might want to use borrowed points for the first trip and current year points for the second in case you have to cancel it. That way, you could still bank points if you have to cancel the second. (It's a lot easier to do it this way thanto try to "reallocate" later). When yo make the first reervation, you would just tell MS to borrow points to pay for it - you might have to explain, but it shouldn't be a problem.
