DD and DS (both 22) are now wanting to join us for first part of our aug stay. We are booked at AKL, but they want their own room and don't want to pay AKL $. Since neither one has a credit card or DC, can I book a room for them at AS (that way they'd be close enough to drive back and forth easily) and sign them in under my credit card at my DC rate if I'm not staying with them? Anyone ever held more than one room res under their name at different resorts? - thought I'd get some feedback and advise before I made my calls! (I'm so happy that the 'big kids' still want to come with me!)

I'm going to assume that you are married, or have another member of your household who is entitled to use the DC discount. Just book the room under their name :)

In all honesty, you should be able to book both rooms under your name though, and get the discount on both.

Unfortunately, no one else who can use DC card will be with me, I'm making this trip with the kids alone - anyone else ever do this for 'adult' family members?

my DC card says "The xxx Family". That tells me that the family could use it too.

Better check the membership information. According to the DC website:
"Q: Is it possible to have cards for everyone in my family?
A: Actually, all of the family members living in the same household may use the card.
You may also obtain one additional card for your spouse (partner) or dependent child living in the same household. There is a $10.00 fee for the second membership card (limited to one additional card). You may contact our Member Services line at (888) DISNEY4U for further assistance."

The website also states that you present the card at check-in:

Hope this clears things up for your situation, bjakmom.

Andrew

You can book several rooms in your name under any Disney discount you are entitled to. I think it is 4 rooms, but don't quote me on that figure. The most rooms I have ever booked under my discount was 2 at a time. Just book 2 reservations using your DC discount and then either pay the balance off before the trip or have your DSs use your DC card when they check in to get the discount and pay the bill. They will have to pay the balance when they check in so then they can just give you back your DC card. DC discounts are good for the member and their immediate family. DSs are definitely considered immediate family. Have fun!! :)

Thanks so much for the info - so glad to know that I can do this with no problem!

You can book several rooms under your name, but the key is you are supposed to be preset at check in.

Since both your children over over 18 just book the rooms in their name - we have done this before when reserving a room for a family member. You make the ressie but the room is in their name. Since the whole family is eligible for the DC discount - make sure when they check in they have your card ( if you've already checked in) or order an add'l card for them.
