Can I add tickets and DDP to room only reservation?

I got a 30% code discount for room only in December as a bounceback promotion for August. I called to see if I can add tickets and the DDP and the CM said "no". I would have to cancel and rebook package and I would lose my 30% discount. All this time I thought I could just add tickets and the DDP. I was actually waiting to see if free dining was coming out, and I think it will be out but we'll miss it because I heard it will be starting the end of August and we'll be there on the 15th. My DD teaches and has to be back the last week of August. Thanks!!

CM was correct.

You can add tickets when you get there, that's not going to be an issue, but dining is a package deal and it appears you have a room only rate......

Thanks Carol for the quick reply. But I did call back and get another CM and he called guest services and I was on hold for a while and I did end up getting the 30% discount. He cancelled my room and I got a package with the tickets, DDP and my discounted room.

I just booked a 40% off room only code at the Poly and they went ahead and turned it into a package with tickets and dining. The 40% off the room saved us almost $1900. call back and talk to someone else!

If you book room only, do you lose any other benifit? If you buy tickets when you get there, or from a third party place, can you still take advantage of things like EMH and what not? I have never booked a Room Only res, and might if I dont find a good package deal.. Can anyone shed some light on to this for me
