Can DVC points be used at any resort (i.e. Wilderness Lodge (not the Villas). Or only specific resorts?

I have seen the list point chart and point calculator, which leads me to believe the answer is NO, but thought I'd ask!

You may NOT use your points to stay at The Wilderness Lodge, only the Villas..... the same goes for the BC/YC and I believe the Boardwalk Inn..... And lastly you cant use them to stay at ASR.

Also beware that you pay a premium to stay at other resorts. a studio room, albeit large, at the Contemporary costs the same number of points as a two bedroom at a DVC resort.

Its nice to have the option to use points to stay anywhere, but we spend the majority of our points at DVC resorts, usually OKW.

You could stay on points at YC, but the point difference is huge so it would not make sense to me to stay at YC when I could stay at BWV or BCV

I agree with Rich above - we plan to stay at the 4 DVC properties while at WDW. The only exception is that we might use points one year for an AKL Savannah view since it is a substantially different vacation experience

Thanks

Actually you can use points to stay at the YC but not the BC (other than the Villas). DVC has chosen not to offer an regular resort that also has a DVC option. There are many choices but as noted, they are expensive in terms of points. If you want to use some of those options regularly you'd be better off buying less points and paying cash for the other options.
