If we were to add on at BLT, and purchase 100 points, can they be split into 2 50 point contracts? (we are thinking ahead so that each of our children can have 50pts each)
Thanks :thumbsup2

Yes, you can. However, my guide told me that if I do that, I lose the incentives. But there are a few people on this board who suggest that you push the issue and ask to speak to a manager. Sometimes they can give permission.

I am in the process of trying to do the same thing so I would say go for it!

I just did this yesterday at the doorway to dreams event and received all incentives (3 night cruise, 2 Mary Poppins Tickets, $5 per point).

Good luck!

We did that exact thing and got the incentives. I wouldn't let them tell you that you won't get them. The only difference is, each contract had its own incentives. We got the developer points, so we had 50 DP on each contract. I am not sure if it would work with the current cruise deal they are doing.

Thank you. I intend to insist that this happens and if I have to, will talk to a manager about it.

We did. one 50 and one 75. Got 125 DP's. Didn't even have to push the issue.

Can you do this with an already established contract? We bought last February.

No.

But honestly... if you are only doing it for inhertiance....

You are leaving your heirs not an asset but a liablity!
"Here kids, have this asset. Annual dues will cost X and of course you have to go to Orlando to use it and buy theme park tickets etc" Seriously, what if they don't WANT to go to Orlando, what if they can't afford it?

That's what the resale market is for, isn't it? Even with limited years left when you get to that point, anything above the costs they'd have to sell it would be greater than not having it. Also it will be interesting to see what Dinsey offers for the old contracts as the resorts expire. It could be $0, but they might count some value towards a new purchase or add on. Rather than someone just walk away, get them to add on for another 40 years (at the new "Poly" DVC that they'll build by then).

Regarding the cruise incentive, they will send you only 1 incentive addendum stating a 50pt purchase but checking the 100 pt-3day cruise. This is how my paperwork came when I bought 2 50pt VGC contracts. They can't send you two addendums or it would look like you are getting 2 3day cruises...

You'll get 2 sets of everything else to sign
