where would be the cheapest place to buy an ipod while we're in florida? And how much could i expect it to be - and would it be compatible with a pc here in britain?
I know you know everything here on these boards, so here's hoping!

I'm pretty certain that Ipod prices are fixed by Apple, so it really won't matter where you buy it. As for the closest place to Disney, perhaps someone else can help answer that one. The Mall at Millenia is not far away and I'm willing to bet someone there sells them.

Will it be compatible? I can't think of any reason why it wouldn't be.

P.S. Another interesting possibility - when you arrive in Florida, order one by mail and have it delivered to your hotel. Most computer companies do next day shipping. I always deal with MacMall 1-800-MACMALL (1-800-622-6255). If you plan to do this, call your credit card company before you leave and register the hotel address as an alternate shipping address on your card, otherwise you might encounter a fraud protection problem.

Have been pricing IPods recently and the approximate prices are:
$299 10 gB
$399 20 gB
$499 40 gB

They can also be purchased at Circuit City-- you can order from CircuitCity.com and that website will also give you directions to the nearest store to your hotel (theres one about 5 miles from Downtown Disney) if you'd rather shop in a brick and mortar...

Target is another store that carries them-- this is a large chain and I'm sure they have a store within 5 miles of Disney. Website is Target.com...

Don't know about compatibility, though... Safest bet would be to contact Apple-- would you need an adapter for the battery charger?

There is an Apple Store at Mall at Millenia. This is a very nice mall that is very close to Disney World. I haven't a clue what their prices are like. You won't regret visiting this mall!
