I have the opportunity to attend the Girl Scout National Convention which will be held next October (2002) and is going to be in Long Beach, CA. I am wondering how far it is from Long Beach to Disneyland, approximately. I probably will not have a car and would also need to know if there is any kind of shuttle or transportation from Long Beach to DL.

Couldn't give you the exact mileage, but last time my wife and I were at DL, some friends of ours who live in CA, came and got us one morning and took us to Long Beach. It was at least one hour each way. To find out for sure, do a search on Long Beach (or Anaheim) CA and then follow the city link to "Driving Directions". It will give you exact mileage and driving times. You can also find transportation options. Good luck.

Actually Long Beach is a pretty big city, so it depends on where in Long Beach you are. I'm very near Long Beach and Disneyland is just a 15-minute drive away. From other parts of Long Beach it may take up to 30 minutes or so to get to Disneyland, but it's definitely not terribly far.

I don't know of any organized shuttles from Long Beach to Disneyland; perhaps the convention will offer shuttles? Other than that your best bet is to use a rental car or take a cab, but the cab fare will be pretty expensive.

Good luck! :)

Thanks for giving her the real dope. Maybe my friends took us the scenic route and we didn't know any better. (Long Beach is the place where they have the Russian sub and Queen Mary??).

Thanks. That helps some. I'm not sure yet if I'm going to the convention but I'm hoping to. Maybe I can organize a DIS meet while I'm there. I'd like to meet all the CA DISer's I've come to know!!!

I've been to conventions at Long Beach before, and stayed near Disney. It's about 20-30 minutes depending on time of day (i.e. traffic). It's a pretty easy drive though, mostly freeway.

Sorry, I don't know of any shuttle services either. Maybe you could find out how much a cab would cost?

Would love to meet, so make sure you let us know as the time approaches.

I recommend renting a car over shuttle/taxi. There is a National Car Rental very close to Disneyland.
