Can anyone tell me about unemployment in IL?

A friend of mine thinks he may be getting laid off soon. He works for a large corporation, been there about 10 years. How does unemployment work? Do you get a certain amount? For how long? I'd like to pass some information along to him just in case. Thanks!

My wife had to do this a few years ago. A fairly simple process, IIRC.

He can get up to $475 a week if he has dependent children, depending on salary, quarters worked, and some other stuff. There's a table on the website. Normal benefits last for 26 weeks.
