Can anyone tell me about Chef Mickey??

OP thanks for asking this! I changed our first night reservation yesterday to CM's from Raglan Road. I'm sure we would have had a fine meal at RR, but I wanted to change it to something that was so Disney. It's also the night before DD's birthday and I think that she'll enjoy this a whole lot more.

So now with this reservation change, we'll be eating in restaurants at all 3 monorail resorts this trip. Most meals we do at park restaurants, but we're hitting more resorts this time around

We ate at CM in Sept. Didn't really like it and was disappointed with the food since it was our last night there too. There is so many better character places. We found the characters rushed though or missed us totally.

My kids loved Crystal palace with the Pooh characters and Liberty Tree is great too and has Chip and Dale. No Mickey though.

We thought the food was bad except for the parmesan mashed potatoes-yummy! The character interaction wasn't great either.

Well you've read a lot about the food, though its mostly been dinner comments. We went for a late breakfast and really enjoyed our meal and the experience.

The overall atmosphere at Chef Mickey's is what I call sanctioned rowdiness:
- bright, colorful and loud
- monorail rolls past right over your head
- 5 characters milling around the place
- characters are animated and playful, even in the waiting area
- the singing and the napkin waving
- buffets give a sense of culinary adventure, this is no different

Our 6yo boy's top 3 things at Disney:
1- Characters
2- Chef Mickey's
3- Goofy's Barnstomers

I think that's a pretty good endorsement!

By the way, be sure to note that birthday in the record. He got a laminated placemat, Mickey cup cake and they did a napkin waving in his honor!

We loved breakfast and will head back for dinner on our next trip.
