We made reservations for our upcoming trip in December and was wandering if this is a good choice and maybe some other choices we are also going to the Poly how about that is that good how about the food, is there any characters there?
THANKS!!

We've been to CM three times and had good experiences each time (all dinner). We were there last week. I like the salad bar - good ceasar salad, regular salad and some other salads (I had a really good seafood salad). I ate a ton of peel & eat shrimp. DH loves their prime rib and we both love the potatoes. I can't remember what else we had. They have the usual kids stuff - mac & cheese, chicken, etc. Our DD loves fruit and they had a nice selection. A variety of desserts (dd loves the make your own sundae). The characters are good and don't just fly by.

We have eaten at CM lots of times for breakfast and dinner. If we go to WDW my kids have to eat here. We also love Ohana breakfast, they have wonderful cinnamon rolls. CM has Mickey, Pluto, Minnie, Chip, Dale, and Goofy! Ohana has Lilo and Stitch, Pluto, and Mickey. I say do both they are great!! I hope they have not changed characters since March because we are doing these again in December.

which meal are you doing? We did dinner. I adored Chef Mickey's...its very high on my must repeat for next year. Its so so so cute. Good variety of food, and for a buffet I thought the food was very good. My kids had a blast...I got some cute pics of them twirling their napkins...even my one year old got in on the action...the dessert buffet was really really good too. One of my favorite meals this trip for sure!

Chip and Dale were not at our dinner Sept 21st...it was Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Pluto, and Donald....

I'm glad I found this thread! We're planning a "girls' only" trip in November and I just made reservations for Chef Mickey because one of the girls wanted to go. We'll be there on 11/11 for a late dinner. :) The next day we'll be going home. :sad1:

Can't wait!

I would go without my kids.

It might be more fun that way :lmao:

of course, if I told DH next year our date night will be at CM, he might not go along with that :rolleyes1

Oh, I hope they stay the same then. Because we are going next August and will eat at both places:) We can't wait:)

We do CM's every trip for the last 6 years, and find that though the quality of the food is not at all what it used to be, the character interaction remains just super!

No rushing, they're playful, entertaining, patient and servers are sure to check that all the characters hit your table. DD is now just 11, has been there since she was 5, and refuses to miss it. DS(15) still loves the characters and, as always, the dessert bar.

If they ever take away the cobbler or the bread pudding, tho - I'm outta there!!!

There won't be any "little" kids - only three adults who are kids at heart! :cool1: There was a thread about your Disney age (you add the numbers in your age together and that is your Disney age) I'm 6, one is 11 and the other is 9.

Not sure if my dh would enjoy it. Guess we'll have to try it on our next trip. ;)

Thamks everyone for all the info now can any one give me some examples from the menus we are doing dinner we have a 3 yr old 11 yr old 12 yr old 2 grnd parents t parents we can't wait

I went in March with my friend and well we are all way over 20. It was fun and I had a good time. :)

We really enjoy both breakfast and dinner at Chef Mickeys. :thumbsup2

We just had dinner there Friday night! It was my boys favorite meal all week!! The character interaction was GREAT!! My boys were so excited to see Mickey they had troublr sitting down to eat! It was lots of fun and we will definatly do it again our next trip!:thumbsup2

Ate there for dinner last Oct on my birthday, the characters were a lot of fun but the food was terrible, even the 3 and 10 year old girls would not eat anything from the kid station...they said it was yucky.

We have eaten there several times and each time was worse than the last. I will not return there even for the characters. I also wrote them a letter on the poor quality of their food and the cleanliness of the restaurant. Very disappointing.

The atmosphere and character interaction were great. It was probably our least favorite meal of the trip--we're not big fans of the buffet. The salad bar and desserts were the best part. I do think the kids would really enjoy it. We were there last week and saw: Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Pluto and Donald.:goodvibes

We have gone here numerous times but no more. Every trip it has gotten dirtier and the food worse. There are other character meals where the food is much better and the place cleaner. We love the O'Hana and Crystal Palace breakfasts. For some reason we always seem to get a bunch of screaming running around kids at CM--I have kids too and don't mind kids 99% of the time but just too chaotic at CM. I can't iamgine going here adult only at all.

I sure hope we have better luck with our trip we have never done any character meals and they said in the guide this was the best lets croos our fingers we will have good luck:angel:

It always amuses me when I read the varying degrees of like and dislike for the food at CM's. We've eaten here every year we've been to Disney and the food has always been good to really good to even great. The kids always find things to eat and the carvery always has a tasty meat. Add to the fact that it's one of the best dessert bars on property and the characters are so much fun, how can you go wrong.

Go with an open mind about the food and enjoy the show. I'm sure you'll have a great time:)
