Hi all,

We are heading to a notary appointment first thing tomorrow morning to sign the Monera loan documents. I have a question that of course I can't ask Monera, as they are currently closed, so I'm hoping someone who has done this can guide us? I'd hate to have to cancel the notary, as we won't be able to get in for another ten days otherwise!

My question is this: On the page called Mortgage Agreement, I understand that we will need to put tomorrow's date when signing in front of the notary (I think? Or do we leave that and only date the second page?). However, there is a spot for this: "...with the balance of indebtedness, if not sooner paid, due and payable on____." I've checked all of my documents and they only say 120 months, but no set end date- probably because there is no set closing date yet. So, can anyone who has notarized these documents let me know what we are supposed to do there? At $100 per page, I would REALLY hate to mess this up somehow and have to redo it!

I would leave it blank. The notary doesn't need that part filled in....they are just notarizing your signature. Wait....who is charging you $100 per page???? I would never pay for a notary. If you go to your bank they will provide you a notary. Just call ahead if you bank somewhere small and make sure the notary isn't on vacation or at lunch.

Please don't pay $100 a page for notary! Your bank should do it for free. I know as it was part of my job when I worked at a bank.

Exactly, I was in banking for 5 years and we notarized all kinds of things for FREE for our customers.

We just sent paperwork bank with monera and left that blank. We just followed the instructions that were sent with our closing papers. I think all t he blank spaces depend on closing date

We didn't get instructions for that part. That's super helpful, THANK YOU!!!

We are in Canada. Our banks don't have notaries :(.

In this same situation myself. I have to find a notary, plus bring along two witnesses who are not related to me? Have to figure out how to co-ordinate schedules for this.

You may be able to find a notary that can also provide witnesses.

I hope so. I made an appointment with one on Tuesday AM. I should call when they re-open tomorrow to see if they will also provide the witnesses ... no charge lol
