I'm looking into the possibility of staying offisite in order to do a Feb trip (as opposed to May on site). I REALLY don't want to wait that long and so if we do Feb. we have to stay offsite to save $$. Anyway..

Last visit we stayed at a Holiday Inn before our Disney stay but I cannot recall which one! I remember it being on the right side of the road and if you turned down the corner it was a residential area to the left of it?? Also had like a swampy area w/ lily pads behind the hotel itself. I just remember the rates being good and the rooms being quite nice, w/ free hot breakfast as well.

Can anyone help me? LOL, TIA!

I suggest you go to the Holiday Inn web site and view each hotel around WWW. Maybe something in the picture will spark your memory. There was a HI that had a pond behind it, free hot breakfast and near a residential area but it is now the Nick Suites hotel. There also was a HI west of the WWW that is now a Days Inn as well one way east in Kissimee that is now closed. Hotels around the "world" have changed alot in the last 5 years.......good luck.

Sounds like maybe Holiday Inn Lake Buena Vista on Palm Parkway. It is on the right side after you turn off Apoka Vineland Rd. Not a swamp behind it but there is a pond with lily pads and a fountain? We've stayed there. Great rates and awesome hotel. Free breakfast, clean room and friendly staff.

Yep just checked that out! LOL, thats the one...I remember it being quite nice as well. Now to decide if I want to wait until late March or May to stay on site or to stay here in Feb, decisions decisions :confused3

Looked swampy to me lol, but I am from MI ;) Thanks a bunch!

I'm also interested in this hotel. Could someone tell me how far away it is from Universal Studios and the resorts at Universal? We've got friends staying at the Hard Rock. Thanks!

lilandvisma, Glad I could help.http://www.wdwinfo.com/images/smilies/thumbsup2.gif

mickeyluv, I'd say about 10 minutes. 15 max. When leaving hotel, take right onto Palm Parkway, that changes to Turkey Lake Rd. Continue on Turkey Lake to Universal Studios. Less traffic than taking I-4.

Thanks! I'm debating on whether to stay at the HI on Palm Parkway or the HI at 8214 Universal Blvd. Any help? Which would you choose and why?

I haven't stayed at HI on Universal Blvd so can't comment to much on that other than a relative of mine stayed there and I remember them telling me they didn't have complimentary breakfast. HI Lake Buena Vista does.
I would choose HI Lake Buena Vista. I've stayed there twice and have no complaints. I prefer the location. Close to DTD, 10 minutes to Disney parks and Universal. Hotel is very clean and staff is excellent. Also, decent pool with a slide.
