We are looking to go to WDW next May for two weeks, we dont have any dates in mind but would like to be there for the Star Wars weekends. The price I'm getting is:-

Virgin Direct Flights -£1140 (Miles and Money flights)
Coronado Springs+ Free DDP upgrade and tickets- £2,239

Add on US tickets and abit of spends and its a lot more than we want to pay. I know offsite would be cheaper but we wouldnt hire a car so wdw transport is great for us. Can anyone sugguest anything to make it cheaper so it this as good as we can get?

thanks

Indirect flights maybe, Wayne is best to ask about them,

Do you need to upgrade the dining? That could save a couple hundred pounds

How many adults /children?

SWW are at the end of the month.

Your flights are they PE? Seems really high for Econ as you said per person.

Are you SURE you need to stay onsite? We stay offsite, but get free shuttles to MK, SW and US/IoA. No other transport needed. Most offsite decent hotels provide this service.

try travel city direct were 5 adults paying £1356 each for everything from flights to dining plan to tickets

We went May just gone, booked flights with Monarch for the school week for approx £450 each, (cheaper if not school hol time) and booked ASM through Disney, 1 week 2 adults and 1 teen was £399 altogether so quite a good deal!

Were going next May - it was cheaper for us to book a VH holiday than DIY. I would have a look at Monarch, Thomas Cook etc prices for those flights seem to be coming out a fair bit cheaper than VA.

Also Travel City Direct have offers on at the moment.

I would go earlier in May to avoid the school holidays and probable price rises as a result.

Thanks for the replys, sorry the flights were total price not per person so they work at £570 each. Just two adults going, I have seen flights with monarch cheaper, what are they like?

Also what offsite hotels would you recommend? We do like going out for table service meals most nights so if we're on site it does seem to make sense to get ddp too.

I will try again looking at packages, can you upgrade to full ddp with the likes of Thomas cook etc as I've only just got the free counter service on mid hotels.

For flights you have to decide if you want to book now at best price available or wait for cheaper flights. Its very early yet and airlines are not offering great prices at 11 months out like they used to, book now and you will pay more but then no hassle of checking prices every day, £570 is not a fortune for direct flights anymore.

Just got a quick price off Complete Orlando for Old Key West with free DDP & 2 x 14 day tix £2,096

As you don't have to pay for DDP upgrade at OKW (or SSR) it works out cheaper than the moderate resorts (CO= £2,124 for CSR)

You can stay offsite cheaper but that depends if you want to take advantage of the free DDP while it lasts, a Deluxe resort at £117/nt incl your food is not going to around much longer when the economy improves.

yes, that deal Wayne quotes at OKW is fantastic!!! an incredible bargain...
i missed it for this year (as i had no idea when we could go at the time the deal was out, so i couldn't book at the time...now we'll be staying in a value resort with free dining for almost what we would have paid for the OKW with free dining... )

if it were me, i'd go with the discounted OKW and free dining package....a real bargain and one that's only available to UK and European guests (not to US guests)...

If you want to try off site, try the hotels along hotel boulevard. They have their own shuttles t the park or you can easily walk to DTD & catch any resort bus or one to TTC and then get to your destination ( no direct buses to the parks from there).

Thanks, I think I will hold out on the flights to see if we can get cheaper ones. When does the Ssr discount end?

not sure if it helps but we are going for the first time in late July early august this year.
We are flying to Philly and then onto Orlando with US airways.
We are renting a villa in Davenport.
Factoring in eating alot of meals off site rather than in disney we have saved at least £3000 this way.
