Can anyone CONFIRM elimination of non-expiring tickets tomorrow?

So, I know someone asked this question but I didn't see an answer- does this mean NE tickets are no longer available for price bridging or upgrading? How can you bridge from a product that no longer exists?[/QUOTE]

Sorry... I still can't multiple-quote :sad2:

And a THIS is the BIG question...can you bridge a product that no longer exists -I'd GUESS NOT but I couldn't say for sure.

Although Cheshire Figment apparently no longer works hands on in ticketing (I believe) , I'm guessing they could offer valuable insight on this, in terms of past practice. I know pre MYW tix can be used but not upgraded at this point, but perhaps in the beginning there were options ???

Just making sure, new nonexpiring UT tickets will still be usable, even if they turn out to be non upgradable, right?

They will be fully usable, (they are "real" Disney tickets, and there are literally thousands (tens of thousands?) of yet-to-be-used NE "days" still in the hands of guests)
and there's a (my estimate) 85%+ likelihood that new NE tickets will still be upgradable.

Nice to see another old person on the board. :rolleyes1
We are still hanging on to our son's ticket from our 1991 visit that has one day left. My husband and myself used ours about five years ago. We even had the original receipt! My son's ticket is a Childs ticket and Disney told us that if he ever wants to use it, he would just need to pay the difference between child and adult. I wonder if they would still honor it?
Yes, it is nice to see other old people on here.

They will be fully usable, and 90%+ likely to be upgradable.

Robo this is great news...I knew they would be usable but what kind of upgrades do you think will be allowed...in your opinion? If I bought a 6dy PH WP non-exp ticket, used it and tried to bridge and make a 10 day, do you THiNK this might still happen? I guess I figured if they no longer offered the product I'd be out of luck. I probably still won't risk it , it's not that much of a savings , and 2+ years ago! when they still DID offer it, a cast member gave me a horrible time adding the days on. It may not be worth the hassle...but I'd LOVE to know what actually ends up happening. I would consider grabbing a couple of lesser day non exp's once stock starts to dwindle. I did buy a 10 day for each family member last night.

If it is a partially used ticket, they won't charge for the upgrade.

Just click +Quote in each post you want to quote, then at the bottom of the page just under the box where you can type in a post without quoting anyone is a button labeled Insert Quotes. Click on that, and then it basically asks you to confirm that you want to quote those posts, do that, and voila!

Mine's a 10-day no-expiration with the water park option, but I was planning to add park hopping after I use it once. I'll still give it a try, but I have no idea how they'll calculate the value or price for the upgrade.

Thanks for the info everyone it's been helpful

Super snoop, when is your trip? Let us know how you make out.

I understand the premise of the NE ticket (my grandparents have them) but my point is that any sort of savings you get by buying NE tickets is wiped out by the fact that you're essentially paying double the price up front. Yes, you can make it worth your while by taking multiple short trips but unless you live one state away like Georgia then the added transportation cost of taking multiple short trips versus one long trip also wipes out the savings. But that's just my opinion...

The non-expiration ticket option has been a great value for us, that we will miss very much. Back in 2008, we bought four 10-day non-expiring hopper tickets with waterparks option from UT for $475.95 each! Over the past 7 years and 4 WDW trips we've used these tickets to supplement the 4 or 5 day expiring tickets that we had for each trip. We might use one or two days off the NE ticket. And since we had the Water Parks option on the ticket, the 10-day ticket is actually a "20-day" ticket. These 10-day tickets allow for 10 DAYS at the 4 major parks, plus 10 VISITS to the waterparks or DisneyQuest. On each trip, we would use one waterpark visit. If you divide the cost of the ticket ($475.95) by 20 (10 park days + 10 waterpark visits) our day/visit cost comes out to be $23.75. We still have 2 park days and 6 waterpark visits remaining on the ticket! On future trips, we can visit the parks and/or waterparks at less than the 2008 prices! That same ticket at today's prices (when it was still available) was selling for $750 or more. That, to me, is why I consider the non-expire ticket, an awesome value.

Adding Park Hopping to a No Expiration ticket should not be a problem at all, since that is just adding an option that is currently offered and it's always been the same price regardless of whether it was a No Expiration ticket or not. Price Bridging should not be an issue in this case either, so they should just end up charging the $64 for the option. Same applies to adding WPFM. It might be more complicated for them to do it.

The bigger question is when upgrading the No Expiration ticket to an AP. Price Bridging basically would bring the value up to the current value before determining the difference to charge for the AP. But since it is no longer an option there isn't a current value. My guess is that internally there is still a value that would make it so the price difference in adding the PH/WPFM options would still be the same, and all they'd need to do that is "freeze" the value of the No Expiration option at its last value. But that's a guess on my part.

I'm not happy to see these tickets go. We always go for shorter trips. We can never really go for long periods of time. Have enough no exp for 1 more trip. After that I just don't know.

On he subject of why they stopped selling, I've heard from multiple sources that at least one driving reason for stopping selling them is all the confusion and hassle. Too many people purchased the option without ever understanding its use or limitations, like you couldn't add on days later on, that you were spending hundreds of $$ to save $10-20, etc.

Just out of curiosity, has anyone either inquired directly at a ticket booth today or tried to purchase a NE ticket today in person? Just wondering what the response would be, since from what I've read here, the NE option wasn't listed over the last year or so but was still a "hidden" option.

Count me in the WDW guests who visit for multiple short trips over several years' time for whom the NE option still makes some sense.

I called Disney today and asked to buy NE tickets and I was told that it's no longer being offered.

I'm confused. I just went to the Undercover Tourist site and they have a ton of NE tickets listed. Put some in my cart just to check and it is going to let me check out.

They are selling from a supply of tickets that they already have in stock.
(They temporarily pulled the NE tickets from their "for sale" list until they checked their inventory.
If you see them now, they have re-listed them.)

When those NE tickets have been sold, there will be no more.
