I have checked dvc news and they state $140 but then say $130 base price with a referral. Is it $130 with a referral and then the discount of $10 (if you buy 160) bringing price to $120.

Thanks in advance.:)

That's how I read it. from DVCNews.com:

"However, for a limited time DVC is still offering the $130 base price to current members and to new buyers who purchase with a referral from a member. A per-point incentive is also applied to most purchases, ranging from $6 per point to $18 per point depending upon the number of points acquired."

Well, not quite double... We bought an add-on at BLT earlier this month. It was a big decision for us on whether to go with BLT for $130 - $14 per point, or SSR for $99 per point. We love the tree houses - staying there this summer, in fact. In the end, we decided that the 11-month booking window at BLT was worth the extra $2500. We want to be able to take our new granddaughter there and figured a 2-bedroom would be difficult to get at 7 months.

Let's see, there's also the $0.62 per point difference in the dues as well. If it stays on pace, we'll make back the $2500 in only... 26 years.

As subjective as the question is, BLT owners would likely all say "yes," but non-owners might say "no" or at least "only if you buy resale."

Personally, I love the decor of BLT, but the location is not a big deal for me. I'd like it just as much it it were say as far away as AKV, but many just like the location, and the decor is secondary.

Thanks, new question then, is BLT worth almost double other resorts.:rolleyes1

All depends on your perspective, I think. MK isn't our location of choice. I'm coming near the point where I have to admit that I'm a "soon to be" senior citizen and my d/h was never crazy about the MK. We're happiest staying in walking distance of Epcot.

I absolutely agree about the Epcot resorts but want the longer contract, which leaves me with BLT, AKV or SSR. And the age old debate direct or resalem mad even more difficult now by the rule change on reslae.

We are BLT owners and I love the resort and being so close to MK, however we bought in 2009 and got our points for $92pp. At the time, most resales were selling for around $80pp. So, we thought it was totally worth $12pp for the longer contract and the location. However, I'm not sure we would make the same decision today given current prices.

If you asked me a year ago, my answer would have been no. Our home resort is SSR and we still really enjoy going there. However, we stayed at BLT for the first time in January and now we are hooked. It is so convenient especially with children that I would definitely pay more to have it as a home resort (and we probably will be buying additional points there). So it definitely depends on what is most important to you in your home resort. I didn't have trouble getting a room at BLT for January at the 7 month mark, but I imagine it is more difficult at a busier time of the year.

You can buy down the price to $112.00 per point by buying 270 points. Not sure what is going to happen @ $140.00.
