Can anybody tell me more about this Coach bracelet?

I had a slightly odd thing happen to me today. There's this little shop here in town that's like a mini flea market, but they mostly sell second hand toys. I try to stop in there every couple of weeks. I went in there today and found a couple Disney stuffed animals. When I was paying for them the guy that runs the shop said that he had something for me. He went into the back room and returned with this.

He said that because I'm such a good customer he wanted me to have it for FREE!!! When he told me that it was Coach I was like  But once he told me that they make handbags I knew what he was talking about. I am NOT a designer handbag kind of girl. My purse is Hannah Montana!

He also told me that the bracelet is worth $100. Now I'm taking that price with a very large grain of salt. I honestly have the feeling that he just couldn't sell the bracelet. I'm 4' 11" and I wear kids' sizes in EVERYTHING. The bracelet is almost too small for me! I can just barely get it over my hand.

Since the bracelet really isn't my style, it's small and money's a bit tight, I'd like to sell it on Ebay. Here's where you come in. I know nothing about these sorts of things. I tried searching Ebay for information, but between active and ended listing there are thousands of Coach bracelets on Ebay! I was able to find two listings. One is still active so I can't link to it, but they are asking $95 (no bids yet). The other is ended so here's a link.

Big difference in price between the two!

I really need to know two things. What would be a fair starting price? And what key words do I need to include in the title?

Thanks!

It may not even be a real Coach bracelet. Maybe someone on here can help identify it...just like there are tons of counterfeit Coach handbags, I'm sure there are as many knockoff bracelets. Are there any other identifying marks?

No other marks that I can see..... Good point about it might being fake. I didn't even think about that.

An item is only worth what someone is willing to pay. The auction you linked ended at $31. I found the active listing and it has no bids. Just because the seller listed it at $95 does not mean it will sell. It might, but also keep in mind that the higher priced one is listed as new. It is much shinier and looks like it's never been worn, so it should go for more, but since the seller's starting price is so high, it may not sell.

Your bracelet will most likely sell on ebay for around $31 give or take, minus your listing fees and paypal fees.

That was a nice gesture from the store owner to give it to you. :thumbsup2

I used to sell coaches on Ebay, it took me a long time to learn what was real and what was fake. I know nothing about the bracelet. But what I would do is if you go to the mall that has a coach store, wear it and casually ask about it and say someone gave it to you. They will tell you if it is real or fake.

Coach never used to connect the C's and then they started to.

I agree. When there are many past auctions, you can look at the past auctions to see the general range other people paid. Right now, there is only one auction that was $31. Someone else may pay $45 or someone else may only pay $20 for the same item in the same condition.

There is a difference between your bracelet & the $95 one. That one is listed "New without tags." meaning it is brand new and never been worn. The Seller has a high feedback rating, so that is probably an accurate description. So your bracelet won't go for that amount. It will be closer to the $31 range as it is used.

You can see from that auction by clicking on the blue "6 bids" link that that auction started at $9.99.

You can start your auction at any price, $1, $9.99 or $29.99. But, the higher you start it at, the higher eBay fees you will be paying.

If you start it at $1, you may get 8 bids. If you start it at $29.99 and if no one is going to pay more than $31, you might only get 2 bids. So it really doesn't matter what price you start it at, except for the eBay fees. It matters that the price isn't higher than what people are willing to pay, like the $95. And it matters if you don't want to receive less than the starting price. that Seller really might not want to part with that bracelet for anything less than $95.

It does matter how long you hold the auction for. 5 days, 7 days are always good. Especially if you make sure the auction is active or ends on a weekend. (I've found more people tend to buy or do a search on weekends.) 10 day auctions are great, as they span a weekend, but the fees are higher.

IMO, 3 day auctions are barely enough time for people to find the auction.

My guess is that it's fake, but you can post this on the Coach section of The Purse Forum and they'll be able to tell you for sure.

Looks fake to me. The Coach script on the inside looks wrong and those white "c"s on the outside definitely aren't correct. The thickness and spacing of them are wrong.

The cursive signature on the inside of the bracelet is definitely wrong. Almost every letter is wrong. The "h" on this bracelet goes up at the end, while an authentic one ends down, even with the bottom of the other letters. Here's an example of the authentic cursive Coach signature:

On the outside of the pictured bracelet, the way the capital "C's" touch, or don't touch, or touch at the top but not the bottom, is wrong, and inconsistent from one color section to the next. Authentic Coach "C's" touch at the bottom only. Also, the bracelet pictured shows two "C's" touching, then underneath there's two individual "C's" facing down (orange section), but facing up (white, blue sections). In the real Coach pattern, the two individual "C's" are facing down consistently. Also, the white "C's" are too thick and touching in all the wrong places.

I'm no Coach expert, but the goods I have seen marked with the cursive signature are the ones made for their Coach Factory stores, not their premium Coach Store goods. Get what you can from listing on eBay. But don't expect anywhere near $100. And don't say that the bracelet is authentic bc that's very questionable.

Your's is definitely fake, like others have said the inside script is wrong and the C's on the front of the bracelet are wrong.
Here is a link to an authentic Coach bracelet. You can see the detail on the inside script, and also the perfect detail on the C's in on the front.

I would not sell it on ebay as it is a counterfeit.

So, I read this thread earlier today and, as well read the replies. I even clicked on the link to the Coach store that showed one of their bracelets. Well, guess what just popped up on my Facebook newsfeed??? Coach bracelets. Little scary how Facebook can watch your every move huh? Now they're shoving ads in my face for coach bracelets...what's next? :confused3

Fake -- the color is off. No listing fakes on eBay (I'm sure you know that.)

Thanks for all the replies!!!

After comparing all the details that some of you pointed out, I agree that is most likely a fake. I made this same post on three different message boards. On every single board somebody posted that it was a fake. I'm not going to list it on Ebay now. I have a friend that got in trouble with designer purses because they didn't have enough proof that they were real. I'm just glad that I made these posts before listing it on Ebay!

I guess the bracelet will be going to Goodwill instead.....
