Can anybody tell me about the Christmas trees for sale at the Disney florist? I am considering purchasing one but am wondering if it is worth $200 for a 3ft. tree. What kind & about how many ornaments come on the tree? Any details (PARTICULARY PICTURES) would be appreciated!!! THANKS!:)

Go to the DVC discussion page for this question.

Lots of members stay there over Christmas and have done this, but from what I have read in the past, its much better (and cheaper) to stop at the local Wal-mart or Target and buy an inexpensive one for $20 along with your ornaments. They have said that the Disney tree is definitly not worth the $200.

Post this over there, I'm sure someone will have pictures, and Plenty of comments as well.

Good Luck! And have a great Christmas.

What Resort will you be at??

When I first went to WDW in December 2000, I took my sister and her three kids. They don't get a lot of trips like this and I wanted to make it special, so I arranged through Disney Florist to have a 3-foot tree delivered to our room at the Poly. It was truly wonderful.

The tree wasn't there when we first checked in, but after we got back from a trip to the pool they had it delivered and all set up to surprise us when we got back.

The decorations and lights on the Disney florist trees really make the price seem worth it, they are fun and well-made and of course Disney-themed, and really, the look on the kids' faces when they saw it made it all worthwhile for that Disney magic you hear so much about.

I made sure with the Florist that they left the box for the tree as well, so we could ship it back to my sister's house at the end of our trip. It took a while to arrive but arrived in good shape, and they have used it as a X-mas tree ever since.

Yep, it costs some $$$, but all I can say is that it was worth it. Sorry I don't have a pix to show you, but I would give our experience a definite thumb's up!

We will be staying at AS Movies. Hope to get a few more replies to this question. I really would like to see some pictures.

THANKS TO EVERYONE WHO REPLIED!:earsgirl:

Are there any alternatives to a tree that the Disney Florist can supply? We arrive on Christmas Day and would love some sort of festivity in the room.

Just a thought...

If you can neither bring a Xmas tree/decorations with you, nor stop at a local store, I wonder if it would be possible to ship something from home to be delivered to yourself at your resort?

I don't know if I'm making sense here, but I remember once reading that some people sent themselves stuff to their resort. Of course, that would have to be timed just right, so as to arrive in time for your festivities.

I hope you get it all figured out.
Happy Holidays!

I don't know if this is what you meant, but I believe the WDW florist, or any other florist, can do balloons, flowers, etc.

Happy Holidays! :)

Nuts4Disney - that's basically it... even something like a lit garland... just something that won't allow my daughter a chance to miss Christmas! I've already changed our plans so that she still can have Christmas Morning at home with the toys Santa brings.

We are going to Wall-Mart right after landing at Orlando - I know I could buy a small fake tree and decorate it special for a lot less than $200. We will have a car rental though, guess there's not much choise without a rental other than to order a tree. Good Luck !

Erika,

Please rest assured that You & Your family will love Christmas time at WDW! :D It is decorated wonderfully everywhere -- the resorts, the parks, etc.

I can understand that you might want a little more Christmas cheer in your resort room. Any good florist, which includes the WDW florist, should be able to do a Christmas garland. The florist probably has a lot of suggestions of pointsettias, arranged flowers, mini trees, etc. However, it will be $$$.

If you have the packing room in your suitcase, you might be able to bring up something to decorate your room with. Your own mini tree, I've seen them in all sizes, pointsettia plant, Christmas ornaments, some Christmas stockings &/or Christmas hats - they have nice ones in WDW, but I don't know if they'll be out of stock for after Christmas. Christmas stuffed toys - Santa, Characters, Beanies, etc. Perhaps you could squeeze a string of Christmas lights in a suitcase if you're really short on space. ;)

Hope this gives you some ideas. :D

Happy Holidays! :D

We are going for our 1st Christmas in Disney this year, and we are buying a 4ft tree, with lights, from QVC for around $50./w/shipping. (My mother just got hers and it is really nice!) We are also going to bring DS's stockings to hang in the room when they are asleep Christmas Eve (and they are 12 & 15 years old!) We'll put Disney $$ in them, and other small gifts, since the trip is their gift this year. We plan on putting up the tree Christmas Eve as well! We are driving, so it will be a little easier for us. Hope everyone enjoys Christmas in the World!

Unfortunately for us, we have the stay at WDW, followed by a cruise, followed by another stay at WDW... so I want to keep the extras in the suitcases to a minimum... if I have to spend the $$ for a tree... I will, but I will contact them about a garland instead. Now, how do I contact the Disney Florist?
